This beach had it all for our family. Sunrise and sunsets, turtles sleeping on the sand beach, monk seals to entertain us with their antics, amazing snorkeling in the lava "reef", boogie boarding. What a gem! All under the supervision of lifeguards with running water...More

Conveniently located for residents at Poipu Kai. It’s a big beach park with showers and bathrooms. It’s divided in 2 parts, a soft sandy baby beach with gentle waves and great snorkeling. It’s right next to Brennecke beach, home of boogies boarding or surfing. Surrounded...More

This is a great place to bring the kids to snorkel. Marine life plentiful, though sometimes the water can be murky due to swimmers (and maybe the amount of sunblock?). We went there on different days, and on the days we went, we always saw...More

Good snorkeling offshore when the waves aren't too big. We saw plenty of fish, turtles, and a monk seal. Signs say there are common rip tides, so not ideal for beginners. Summertime swells make the currents and waves bigger, but there's some protected waters for...More

We drove from Princeville to check out this beach. While it is crowded, upon arrival we came upon a tanning monk seal on the beach and one coming out of the water. Amazing! We learned these are endangered species only 1,100 of them left in...More

While visiting, I was a little reluctant to hit this beach because I google mapped it and it looked a little run down. We were looking for a place to snorkel and, due to the flooding on the north shore, Tunnels beach was closed. So...More

Really nice beach with cool surf shop, deli and restaurant nearby. There's a body surfing cove with some decent waves. All boogie boarders and body surfers, no surf boards. Rocky bottom in spots. Beach park area has many shady and grassy areas, picnic tables and...More

We went with teenagers and it’s a beautiful beach. You can swim out to a little island and see fish on a good day. The water was fairly shallow and rocky. If you’re looking for incredible scenery and the possibilities of seeing mink seals, I...More

Our family (4 total) spent a week in Kauai and had a great time at Poipu Beach. A great place to just relax and chill.

We saw one dog outside of the beach area. Unsure if they are technically allowed, though.
