During our 9 day Kauai vacation, we snorkeled at 3 locations and this was the best place for seeing many fish with a fairly good variety. In the building next to the beach, there is a snorkel equipment rental shop which was very handy. The...More
Great crescent but the whole week we’ve been here there’s little sand area to relax and enough swells to make water entry difficult. This isn’t a beach for the kids but is very popular with local surfers and is popular with snorkelers. The extremely rocky...More
This is a great place to snorkel. Not a very big beach but the water is great. Saw tons of fish and 2 sea turtles. We rented gear from Boss Frogs right there. Came back several times during our trip to snorkel. Would take a...More
Lawa'i Beach is one of the best snorkeling beaches in Kauai. The beach is very small and there is one small entrance point (straight line out from Shave Ice Stand) where one can avoid the coral and rocks to enter the water. We saw a...More
We saw lots of fish and a sea turtle! The waves can get pretty big a bit offshore so watch where you swim/float. Rentals for snorkel gear etc are at Boss Frog in the building right next to the beach. It was $20 for 24...More

Snorkeling at Lawai Beach is free, open to the public, directly accessible from the street. Besides snorkeling, many people bring wine/snacks to enjoy the sunset on the small terraced lawn space bordering the cove. Enjoy!
