Drove all the way here after a beautiful snowy weekend only to find the road is closed to lookout point. If you are looking for a quick trip in the winter don’t stop here. 2-3 hour walk to lookout point and back.

Trixie loved hiking to the view point of Cooper's Rock. Coming from the PNW, we had to laugh when someone told us we had a "really steep climb" near the end. West Virginia is not known for mountains that's for sure. Trail was maintained well,...More

Morning hike and watching the scenery changing with time as the fog lifted. Ample parking near trails and office. Upper overlook path is near the office and another path is adjacent to pavillion. Beautiful views with the fall foliage.

We spent one night in a tent at the camping area. This is a very clean and well kept Park. The view from the overlook is breathtaking! The underlook trail is a nice easy walk and one can capture some nice pictures.

Cooper's Rock closes the gate at "dusk." I usually ask at the park office each visit.
