What a beautiful place. Haven’t been here in years and we were very pleasantly surprised. We stayed at the Lyle Hotel for Solstice and checked out what was close and open. What a hidden gem. The tasting room is beautiful set on a knoll with vineyards above and a old fashion windmill. The service was well timed and very knowledgeable about the grapes, style, mixes, history. All the wines are delicious. Yummly jammy reds with grapes from Horse Heaven taste of cherries and vanilla. Their Riesling was dry, tastes of grapefruit and wants to be drunk with grilled shrimp. We bought a case, drank it and came back the next day for another.

As a family group, we had some reluctant wine-tasters. We visited on the busy Labor Day weekend and sat indoors in the A/C as the lovely patio under the arbor was full. It took awhile to get served, but then Audrey (I believe) took good care of us. She was warm and charming - admitted she was just learning, but still provided good guidance for us. The standout for me was the 2018 Pet-Nat, a biodynamically farmed and fermented Syrah. We have only one regret - we don’t live nearby, so being a Club Member wouldn’t make sense. But if in the area, I’d definitely go out of my way to return to Domaine Pouillion.

I can't say enough how friendly, warm and hospitable this family owned winery is. The selection of wine is very good. I highly recommend you visit when in Washington. We were staying in Portland and decided to take a drive to see the countryside. What a find. Don't forget to bring a picnic of fruit, cheese, crackers and bread to enjoy with your wine tasting.

We have been coming here for several years and recently joined the wine club. We are never disappointed when we are here. Today we did a full tasting with cheese board. Thanks for being dog friendly. See you next time.

There is a lovely craft winery high in the hills above the north shore of the mighty Columbia river, about fifteen minutes drive from Hood River, OR. Ascending into the alpine countryside is a joy in itself, though I would avoid this trip in winter weather. Our visit in the second week of July revealed vistas of golden fields framed by lush evergreen fir trees under a cloudless Columbia blue sky.
The Domain Pouillon tasting room is surprisingly luxurious, but not uncomfortable. It reminded my of the formal drawing room of a French farm. After our tasting, we moved out onto the patio and sat beneath a lovely pergola with ample room for a party of up to twenty people. The porch swing looked out over the hillside and the fledgling orchard. While the amenities were splendid, they were surpassed by the friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to see us arrive and made friendly and informed conversation while we sampled the wine. If you have a few hours to spare on a Spring or Summer weekend, definitely start your wine tour at Domain Pouillon in Lyle.

We stopped here for wine tasting and stayed for dinner. Each of the four courses of dinner were perfectly prepared and presented beautifully. A great ending to an afternoon of wine tasting in Lyle.

Went here with group of 6.
Found the people very nice and accommodating. Some folks were planting vines and took a minute to greet us and say hello. Tasting room manager (Tracy I believe) was helpful and responsive.
I found the wines a pleasant spin on Rhone varietals. I thought the Pierre offering was exceptional. I'd say we enjoyed 50% of what they poured which is very good.
I enjoyed the tasting room decor. Like walking into a French cafe almost. Very nice touch and fits with the terroir.
I would certainly go back, well done.

In the Lyle area, there are several "fun" places to taste wine. Make sure to drive the 1 1/2 miles up thru the oak savanna to the Provence style tasting room/vineyard at Domaine Pouillon. The estate vineyard is beyond organic with the biodynamic designation.
The wines are elegant and all local, made with grapes from Washington State outstanding vineyards. My experience has been that tastings are usually an "individual" experience from the owners or possibly the knowledgeable Kyle.
Consider the wine club as the dinner at the 2016 event just blew me away with the slow roasted pig served with the 2015 Merlot. Say hello to the winery dog, Tbone and buy a few farm fresh eggs. Check out the hours though, as they are different than some tasting rooms.
I was very happy that I made the drive

The facility was beautifuland the wine was good. But we were all a little put off by the attitude of the owners. Not too much more to say.
