We launch our kayak dolphin tours in Virginia Beach into the beautiful Lynnhaven Bay via Crab Creek. We paddle in mostly calm water with sometimes just a little slight turbulence. There are no waves in this area. Once we launch we are immersed into the natural surroundings of the tidal salt marsh, the maritime forest and the Chesapeake Bay. We can see dolphins at any moment. Dolphins are wild and free but we see them very frequently. We always try to optimize our chances of seeing dolphins by adjusting the routes we take based on conditions. We have seen dolphins, bald eagles, osprey, whales, sea turtles, sting rays, pelicans, foxes, herons, egrets and much more! We share detailed history of the Native Americans that once paddled these same waters, the history of the English settlers and fun facts of the uniqueness of this ecosystem. This is also one of the best places in Virginia Beach to see a sunset!

An awesome time. We canoe regularly but had never kayaked. Our tour guide helped everyone feel comfortable and was very well informed. We were at the First Landing site and he answered my kids questions (22 and 17) and we learned a lot. Of course the dolphins were our goal and it did not disappoint! Bryan (tour guide) was very respectful of the beautiful animals and our patience paid off as they chose to swim right up to and under us! A storm started after meeting the dolphins and we had several inexperienced kayakers, he gathered us safely and in time and we “weathered” it out at a dock on the shore. I felt both safe and happy for the great experience with my kids. Something to remember.

With the plentiful options for Kayaking tours in VA Beach, we sure are happy to have booked with Brian at GoKayak!
Booking the 2 hour trip was a breeze and the rates are affordable and fair. We could have easily booked our trip online but we decided to call. Brian's positivity and enthusiasm during the call had us both at ease. We couldn't wait for our trip. He even sent us a text with directions on where to meet, which was simple but very much appreciated.
The trip was so seamless and professional. Brian welcomed us with a wave and a big smile. We started our trip on time. During the trip Brian shared a wealth of information regarding the area including the wildlife and landmarks in the area.
Brain made sure everyone was comfortable and did a great job of checking in on each group during the trip. We saw multiple pods of dolphins, bald eagles, a sting ray and more! What a great way to spend the morning.

We went on a kayak tour last Sunday for my son’s birthday and had an awesome experience! Bryan is extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made everyone feel comfortable, no matter the level of experience. He told us about wildlife, marine life and the history of the area. He took us to some sweet spots—had dolphins pass just a few feet away! We even had the chance to watch a bald eagle snatch a fish out of water and perch on the rocks nearby to enjoy his catch. I absolutely recommend booking with him...it is money well spent on memories that will last a lifetime!

I’ve clocked 4 tours with Bryan this summer ( so far) and each has been pretty much perfect, largely due to his impressive knowledge of the bay, the park, the dolphins and the history of each. One is given a context that other tours don’t offer- and it’s important if you want more than a few hours on the water. There’s no shortage of excitement and the thrill of being so close to these wonderful animals is , of course, mighty special in and of itself. But, the background and informational facts Bryan tells you are what helps deepen your understanding and respect, ultimately making your tour so much more satisfying overall. I did morning and sunset tours and either is well worth your time; both are beautiful and calm and peaceful and tranquil.
I’d say that this particular tour and absolutely this particular tour guide are a “ must do” if you’re in the area.
Better yet: come to the area FOR THIS TOUR- you will not regret it. This is an unequivocal 5 star, 2 thumbs up, hands down winner, folks!

My son and I did the noon tour with guide Will. It was a fantastic adventure. Will made all of us feel at ease with the physical nature of the kayaking part. He was also excellent at pointing out wildlife and providing historical information about the area. He was very patient in searching for dolphins for us to see and we eventually found them. It was incredible. The bay we kayaked in was gorgeous. While it is a wildlife tour, it was also a great real estate tour with a unique view of many beautiful waterside homes. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for an outdoor adventure in Virginia Beach.

Great tour. Done a lot of these kayak tours, and this one was truly lovely. No dolphins on our sunset paddle, but the most magnificent sunset I've ever experienced, so beautiful on the water. Well organized, well equipped, informative, and very beautiful tour. I highly recommend it. One recomm... if you're planning on doing a two-person kayak, look at the weight limit. It's lower than some.

The weather was great. The waters were calm, and the dolphins were plentiful. Everyone in our group from eight years old to 70 had a fantastic time. Brian hooked us up with a pod of dolphins even before we were all in our kayaks. Then, we followed the pod for over an hour as they swam around our group, playing and breaching the water and slapping their tails on the waves. Any questions that we had were answered professionally and Brian was a wealth of information. Not only did we enjoy being in the water surrounded by dolphins but we all learned quite a bit during our two hour tour. Everyone agreed that we would do this again in a heartbeat. Just want to give a great thank you to Brian for making our day!

Highly recommend! Bryan was so informative and you can tell he truly loves what he does! He was very helpful for beginners and even offered great tips to get the best pictures. We saw so many dolphins and the sunset was perfect. Loved every second of it!

The trip today was awesome! Our guide was fantastic and such a wonderful spirit. He was very knowledgeable about the excursion including nature and the environmental area. I highly recommend this excursion if you are in the Virginia Beach area and looking to kayak.

Brian’s easy going style and extensive knowledge of the Broad Bay helped to make the most out of our two hour kayak tour! He knew the history of the area and pointed out wildlife like Bald Eagles and Osprey and even a sea turtle on our trek. He knew where the dolphins liked to play and educated everyone on how to responsibly encounter dolphins in the wild. The dolphins seem to respond to us with curiosity and came close to our kayaks even as we gave them their space and remained still in our boats. The weather and water conditions were perfect and the sunset was beautiful. Great trip! This is one best done with a guide like Brian to get the most out of your kayak time!
