About
The Bay of Islands Farmers Market operates an authentic Farmers Market in Kerikeri every Sunday morning 8:30 am to 12 and in Paihia on the Village Green 1pm-4pm every Thursday. We are open rain or shine. All produce is produced in the Northland region and sold by stall holders who have a part in the growing or production of what they sell. If you have any questions feel free to ask the stall holders, they are more than happy to tell you about their products and how best to cook or store them. Come along and purchase some of the freshest products you can find direct from the producers and support local producers.

Cruise ships dictate schedule, lovely little walk and chat with local creative types. Excellent and authentic goods a refreshing experience. Town is too cute for words, but sadly overrun with cruise ship plebes during summer months.

On a trip from UK to visit relatives living in KeriKeri we took a couple of trips to this market, so many different stalls with great local produce, crafts and wonderful food.
Highly recommend a visit if you in this part of the world

Have been to both the Paihia one on Thursday and Kerikeri on Sunday. The Paihia one is bigger with crafts as well - the Kerikeri Sunday one has great produce but is very much a farmers market and quite small.

Having been to a bigger farmers market in another part of North Island I found this market to be a little limited in comparison.

That said, for a smaller market it was very busy with a variety of stalls and all the vendors with ‘sit and eat’ stalls were thriving. There was a good vibe about the place.

There were a number of art / craft stalls to go with plenty of fruit & veg.

Car parking was free and easy to find a place.

If passing or nearby give it a visit.

Began at 8:30 am with a large coffee and a raisin croissant---yum!People are friendly, the vendors approachable and helpful. The fruit we purchased was delicious. There is jewelry, smoked fish, handbags, herbal remedies, pickles and more.
The prices are appropriate for the quality of the offerings.

We thought this market would be bigger and it was nice, but nothing really unique. The Kerikeri area has lots of farm stands that are open most of the time and have excellent fresh produce. So, you don't have to wait for the Sunday market to get lots of good stuff. The fruits and veggies that we bought at this market were all quite good and we liked the coffee vendors.

Nice atmosphere, easy parking and excellent range off fruit and veggies at very reasonable prices. The bread stall has a huge variety but you must get there early as he sells out quickly. Listen to local musicians whilst enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee and don't forget the cheese stand, oh and the mushroom man grows his own with micro greens too. We buy most of our produce here, every stall is worth a visit and the sellers are all very friend,y and helpful.

As visitors from Auckland we were blown away by this market. And it seemed to us that the entire population of Kerkeri and surrounds must have been there.
But parking was plentiful, with a helpful guide waving you to the nearest spot - he was there for hours - I hope they pay him.
The stalls were great, with less "junk" than seems to be usual at our local markets back home. Of course there was some junk but there were also beautfully crafted pieces of art in various forms - painting, carving, sculpture, jewellry.
And food of all kinds too.
There was a 4 piece band entertaining too. It wasn't easy to stand too close, as they were quite loud, but as soon as you were amongst the stalls a few metres away the sound was more acceptable. They were very good.
With a few young grandkids in tow we didn't get to see everything. I would happily have spent another hour or so browsing.
But they got to feed piglets and pat rabbits, and they would have stayed longer too it it hadn't rained a couple of times. There is plenty of shelter though.
There is an onsite bakery, plus several stalls selling bakery items. I bought a black malt rye sourdough that turned out to be among the nicest breads I have ever tasted.
A kind gentleman was doing balloon sculptures for kids and giving them away free or by donation.
A great way to while away a Saturday morning.
