Called in to cafe for lunch. Long wait in queue to be served. Ordered sausage roll and bacon and egg pie at till. Waited for 15 mins to then be told by a very pleasant young server that they had oversold on the sausage roll. What’s interesting is that when we were seated and waiting for our purchases we watched the man on the till go and get the last sausage roll for the customer he was currently serving. He had clearly forgotten that we had ordered it.
However, the cafe did substitute another pie.
We had observed a lot of servers who were running back and forth clearing tables and delivering food but there didn’t seem to be a clear way of communicating between the man operating the till and the others who were fetching the food.
Again, I would like to praise the young woman who was made to come over and tell us the situation.

Hi Darryin I am very sorry about this, and it isn't good enough. The last week has been very busy compared to the business we were doing before the borders opened. It's wonderful to finally have visitors coming to Northland again.. However I think some of our staff have been taken by surprise. We also have some new staff. It's a combination of lots of issues which culminates in a review like this. I appreciate your review and hope that you will come back another day and better service will be given. kind regards Judy

This is the best market in NZ! Such a buzzy, vibrant atmosphere, ample parking and the Cafe has the best coffee, delicious cheese scones and comfy leather sofas with a fireplace in Winter. Definitely a must if you are in Kerikeri!

It was a very rainy Saturday and we almost didn’t go but the thought of stall holders being there regardless got us going. Despite some empty spots, the market was good. The cafe was lovely and the pastries (pain au chocolate and cruffin) and chia cups were delicious, as was the coffee. Lovely to see local food producers and artisans - we did our bit to support local! Definitely worth a visit if your are near Kerikeri.

A market with a good variety of stalls, on a Saturday when we went mainly food outlets but was told on a Sunday more crafts. We certainly added to the local economy and were happy with our visit. Returned again mid week to meet friends for coffee and had nice coffee and cakes. Plenty of parking and friendly service

Lovely market selling all sorts of food, crafts, plants etc. The amazing smell of all the food cooking made you want to try everything that was going. Liked the live bands playing too. Looked like the locals used this market to catch up for a chin wag with neighbours. Kid friendly too. Only downside was the poor kittens for sale in a cage.

Sunday markets.

Lots of stalls with different crafts.

Very interesting and friendly people.

Didn’t get away without the wallet being attacked though.

Bought some lovely items, well the wife did anyway. I was happy looking and there was a lot to look at.

Well worth popping in for a look.

A great market. Fruit and veg stalls, arts and crafts, great bakery and cafes/stalls for food and drink. Good atmosphere with live but gentle music. Made to feel welcome as a tourist.
Tried the samosas from one of the food stalls, they were delicious. A lovely couple of hours.

A really good market for fresh food. Fresh bread to smoked cheeses to fruit and fresh orange juice. The market is only open on Saturday & Sunday. The Saturday market is a lot bigger and busy. Definitely worth visiting

I think this is a good market for locals - was busy. Nice cafés and fresh fruit and vegetables. Found it a bit disappointing as a tourist - arts and crafts pretty average and not many artesinal products. If you can work it in to a visit to the other Kerikeri tourist sights it's worth dropping in but it's not a destination in its own right.

I hadn’t been to the Market for ages and it didn’t disappoint,. I took visiting friends from Australia who absolutely loved it and left wishing they had one like it. There were lots of new stalls and I had the most delicious bacon and egg sandwich I’ve ever had!. The summer fresh produce was also of amazing quality and left with an empty wallet!.
