Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our family stopped in to buy some honey as we were driving passed. The shop was lovely and I found the prices very fair and the products interesting and exciting to browse. The shop keeper was friendly and let my children taste the honey, too.
I knocked a few stars off as I would have loved to stay and visit the big beehive but as I was about to inquire about it, my young child asked the shopkeeper if they had a toilet and he told him that no, there was no toilet. He didn’t offer any alternative places we could go, and I am also heavily pregnant, so with young children and being pregnant I unfortunately had to just pay for our things and get home instead of staying to visit the beehive because it was too risky to stay there any longer without toilets available or close by. It’s a pretty isolated location, so there were not many options.
A real shame as I would have loved to go inside the beehive!

This was a very cool place to visit. Yes there is a huge selection of honey related things to buy - all good value- and the owner was fantastic. So passionate about bees and so informative! Really enjoyed watching the bees behaviours and recognising the different bees roles.

We wanted to visit here as I am quite keen on bees.
It’s a cool little shop with plenty of bee products and for a small fee we can go and view the bees in their hives working away,
With approx 100,000 bees we were amazed when the queen bee was pointed out to us in amongst them all.
Loads of bee facts as well.

We came across this shop completely by accident, when we were looking for a particular product but are so glad we did. Great range of lovely products and honey to taste. We enjoyed an informative trip into the large beehive and learnt lots about bees and beekeeping. Isaac is clearly extremely passionate about his bees and his business and couldn't have be more helpful when sorting a small problem with a refund. Excellent customer service all round. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely shop.

This is a good place to get information about honey in New Zealand. For little money you can visit a small exhibition. And the shop has everything, from medicine to pure honey. Very honest shop, you won't be fooled like in a lot of tourist shops.

Highly recommend the Pohutukawa Honey. We went back on our way back home to buy some for our neighbours. The kids enjoyed trying the different honey's.

Stopped with clients for a break. Huge selection of honey products. Most honey types, plus creams lotions etc. Take the time to visit the giant give. Bit scary but amazing. Fun for the kids.

He obviously loves the bees and the honey. He told us all about honey and manuka in particular. He had lots of info about the area around Kerikeri too.
We enjoyed our visit

The shop was great - tasting different kinds of Honey and learning about it as I went (I didn't realise how many different kinds of honey and flavours there were). We paid the $4 to go into the Hive which was an incredible sight! It was amazing to see the bees at work, and the staff where very informative and kind.
