Completed this walk with 13 other women and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well organised, lovely hosts, lovely accommodation, excellent meals and a great bunch of like-minded women to share it with. The walk itself, in particular Days One & Three, was challenging for me as I hadn't done enough hill training prior to the event - but I made it! Day Three was my favourite part of the walk because of the varied terrain and inclusion of bush.

The walk was recommended to us by friends and were very lucky to secure a spot from an overseas cancellation. The walk itself is well thought out with a variety of terrain and challenging at times (in a head wind!) without being daunting. The map/info booklet is very helpful while walking. The food was fantastic, we were warned this is not a walk to do as part of a weight loss program!! The accomodation was excellent, Whakapata Cottage and the Shearers Quarters each had their own charm & history, and Stony Bay Lodge is modern, well-appointed, with stunning coastal views. The accomodation was all very clean and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely recommend the Tora Coastal Walk.

The scenery was excellent, as was the food, even though some self-cooking is required. The prepared salads were excellent. I would describe the accommodation as good, but not excellent. Being supplied with one sheet and two pillowcases to supplement the required personal sleeping bag was not what we expected when booking. There are no ensuites, and just two toilets/showers to share for the whole group. All were clean. We met a host on day one, but not again. We had no further contact with the hosts. Overall, an excellent walk, great food, but we felt let down by the accommodation arrangements.

Wow!!! I can't rate this experience highly enough. The walk was breathtakingly beautiful, our host's were super warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and the accommodation was full of character and cosy. I am already planning my next visit to the special piece of New Zealand.

We just completed the three day/four night Tora Walk (23-27 Oct) and are still buzzing a couple of weeks later!. Fantastic doesn't really do the experience proud - the farm(s) owners Kiri and Tania and their other halves are a great team. Organised and supportive and not too intrusive...just right I say! The food was amazing and I think we may have even managed to put on weight! The accommodation was sparkly clean and welcoming - beds were particularly comfy after a long walk. Then there's the scenery - varied terrain and stunning views, dawn chorus and fenced off areas of native bush. We've decided its the best three days we've spent in a long while and would do it again in a heart beat.
