It was very interesting and I have long wanted to see stromatolites but unfortunately these ones sere damaged. Very sad too see such ancient lifeforms vandalised, even if unintentionally. The path in is easy and well maintained. The road is a bit rough but fine...More

There isn't much to see here except some stromatolites, which, for many people, might be something different worth seeing. If in the area, a quick stop is recommended.

This is a very intersting lake as the level rises and falls with the sea tides, however it is much saltier than the sea. There are stromatolites in it as well as fish (pre-salted!)

On our way back from Jurien Bay, we stopped over for a few minutes on this lake, peaceful and quite and apparently home to some of the earliest forms of life on earth, it is a beautiful lake.

The lake itself looks ordinary but it is what lives in it that is special. Looking like little scrunched coral but been there for millions of years.

Hi Tracy M. It is about 2 o3 klms along the dirt road, although it is pretty compact to drive on. You reach the car park and then walk out on the boardwalk which is about 500 metres to the stromalites in the lake. Watch for... More
