very simple experience seeing some of the oldest living organisms on earth. they look like cow pats underwater, and don't visibly do anything in a serene area. Not an adrenaline pumping location rather calm and peaceful, a stroll along the lakeside to vie wthe still...More

A KM down an uneven dirt road just before Cervantes is a very quiet and still saline lake - Lake Thetis. The Stromatolites are unique as is the saline surf that comes off the lake. Can be quite windy

The road to the Stromatolites Lake Tethis had an unsealed road. We decided to walk 1 km one way. Once we arrived there, we found white ground and small bushes. We had a boardwalk to follow the path. We saw the Stromatolites, they were unique!...More

It's worth the detour. The information boards are well done and so is the walk way. It's worth finding the quarry, because it's a great bit of history, it's behind the main building - the signage isn't great.

Good for older kids and adults. Not entertaining for young ones. Interesting to see this type of formations so close to a town. There is a nice board walk to protect the area.

An improved walk along the lake shore to protect the fragile rare vegetation an see the formations. Good if you research this to understand its distinct beauty
