Best thing to see in Rochdale. Easy access from J21 M62. Pity its only open 1st Sunday of the month. Worlds largest working Steam Mill Engines, traditionally fired by coal. Excellent day out and kids go free.

The place itself is great, with lots of things going on when they are steaming up the machines. The staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Size and power were everything when it came to the Industrial Revolution, and the Flywheel here shows how the mill came to be centre of the cotton spinning. It dominates the engine house and when running is a sight to behold

Always interesting, normally other attractions but only small. Find it expensive if you're not a big enthusiast.
