This is a fantastic spot, to just sit and enjoy a coffee on a hot summers day. Just watch the world go by, whilst listening to the relaxing sounds of the water.

It's a wonderful S shaped Footbridge opened in 2008 crossing Castleford's wide River Aire. Allowing pedestrians to experience the size power and sounds of the water rushing below as the bridge is built close to a weir. The footbridge is designed to be more like...More

As part of the Castleford regeneration scheme this footbridge over the river was erected. It merely connects a number of houses to the centre. Not worth visiting exept for the feat of engineering.

The multi-award winning footbridge offers a relaxing passage across the river, with a chance to look at the historic flour mill, the weir, and the fish and eel ladders, as well as the children's favourite, Thomas, the wrecked barge underneath the bridge.

Don't go too far out of your way to visit this Expensive pedestrian bridge! Not much to say about this except maybe the councils money could have been better spent. Built over the river Aire its 130m long and in a S-shape (£4.8m project) next...More

This is a bridge that takes you from nowhere very much to nowhere at all so from a cost per crossing point of view it's very hard to justify but in the heady days at the turn of the century it was probably seen as...More

Interesting bridge construction making the most of the river views and surrounding buildings. Probably the best thing Castleford has to offer, it was only a stop off for us on our journey home.
