This has to be one of the best attractions on the Isle of Wight. A really good castle with plenty to see and do. Fantastic for families. The donkey display was brilliant, my children loved it. Happily return!

Three of us visited this English Heritage site in September. We were all surprised how interesting we found it. A planned 2 hour visit took at least 4 hours. Thoroughly recommended.

I was disgusted to see a poor donkey tied to a millstone, constantly walking around in a circle up,King a heavy millstone, shies only release was to give rides. All complaints are ignored. Never visit here if you are a true animal lover.

My daughter is currently studying GCSE History and said the talk from the volunteers about armour and war was better than any history lesson she has ever had. Interesting, fun and entertaining. Well worth a visit.

Yes - we saw a range of dogs there, just not on the highest points of the castle walls!

Hiya. I don’t work there I’m afraid so can’t answer with certainty but if memory serves properly there are several demos from mid morning to mid afternoon. I think they’re about every 45 mins? Could ring and check?
