Tiny but impressive
Aug 2019
We came here on a rainy day and were surprised to find a tiny unattended building in the middle of nowhere. Despite our initial reaction, we found this to be an impressive memorial of a tragic event in Putten, NL. A must-see if you're in the area.

Very moving wartime exhibit
May 2019 • Couples
This exhibit commemorates the men who were removed from Putten after an attack on an officer in World War II. We also visited the bridge where the attack occurred (took some finding but there is a plaque). The memorial is quite small but manages quite an impact with all the names and the story of what happened. A little piece of WW II history that is often overlooked is remembered here.

Good to remember
Mar 2019
Small little museum all in Dutch. Would like to have had even a pamphlet in English that had some translations. Even so, we were glad we came and are thankful for those who keep up the little place. We had heard of this event from relatives so knew enough already to appreciate its significance. From here we walked down the main road to the church. Lovely road with lovely shops. The church where it happened was at the end of the walking street and is still used today.

Small but hard hitting
Aug 2018 • Family
Small building. Unattended, you buzz to get in, it suggests age over 12 but took in my 3 boys, youngest 9. Unfortunately it was all in Dutch but you get the idea of the horror of what happened in Putten in WW2 especially the lists and lists of names.

Short view of Puttens warhistory
Oct 2017
Good overview of what happened during the second World War in Putten. Good place to learn a bit about the deportation of more than 600 man in 1944 to the concentration camps.

this commemorates victims of WW II
May 2017 • Couples
The building opens automatically and the light will go out after a certain time (enough for visiting). The information is in Dutch, but google translate might help and there are a lot of pictures and names and ages of people that died that speak for themselves. Very important to keep this memory alive and honor the victims of the war.
