We were so lucky that the church had a guided tour taking place so we could go inside and see the spectacular altar - it really is the best I have ever seen - there is so much detail to see- really impressive (my pictures...More

Quite a climb through the narrow streets of Cadaques. But on tentatively opening the door to this stunning church I was totally dumbstruck. What an amazing altar, and all the pictures and relligous icons all around it. We love visiting all holy churches and cathedrals...More

The altarpiece is beautiful with many statues and covers all the back wall of the church. There was music played (guitar) and this was bringing a lot of peace and serenity in that church. It’s worth visiting slowly and discover the stained glass windows and...More

Neat to see inside the tallest, highest structure on Cadaques. We rather stumbled into the church. The day was hot, it was quite hot in the church but worth a peek inside. Very ornate for such a hidden gem.

They are all very much the centre of the community’s and Santa Maria is no different. Lovely inside with an impressive alter piece to remind people who’s boss. Views outside down to Cadaques harbour. Nice old cobbled streets.

small, quaint, take a quick look. Go there for the view and not in mid-day where groups of tourists are there.

I knew nothing about this church before we had arrived in town. I guess that I was preoccupied with thoughts of Dali, but this church has Surrealistic elements of it's own...a must see...
