The Hams Caves are 10 million years old, but mankind has only been able to enjoy their beauty since they were discovered in 1905 by the speleologist Pedro Caldentey Santandreu (1886-1950) while he was digging for onyx, a precious stone abundant in the region. In 1910 he produced electricity to illuminate the cave before electric lighting had reached the village of Porto Cristo. Using a water mill, a dynamo and a water tank, he generated 16 hours of electric current to enable visits to the caves. Come and discover the rest of the history of the Hams caves

It was breathtaking. The caves have a beautiful mix of colour and calmness. They also have a live show at the end. Must watch

These caves are not the Caves of Drach! They are more expensive and with less to see. There is a definite attempt here to fool tourists into thinking they are at the caves of Drach. No boat ride and no live music. Shorter time actually...More

This was a good visit (wouldn’t say amazing because it seems very expensive for what it is) but educational and both adults and children can learn from it. A bit tacky and also, would be nice if tourists could get on the boats. Friendly staff,...More

What you get is more than worth it. We did not expect a lot of things: the intro movie, the ambiental lights or the 'Genesis' movie. It was more than great. Money well spent abd the staff very friendly.More
