They are tied up tight and I have it on good authority, they are never allowed to lie down at night. They are tied up tight then, also. Natives call the Donkey owners, the Mafia. And the Town Hall does nothing about the animal's welfare,...More

The donkeys may look sweet and cuddly but they are not treated well! They are kept in dark, airless "stables" at night and tightly tied up in the daytime waiting for the tourists to ride them and wreck their backs. Once there backs are bent...More

Echoing what everyone else has said, don't pay for these poor animals to continue to be mistreated. The Spanish are a great people but so many have zero compassion for the wellbeing of animals, the only way to halt this is to hit them in...More

Mijas would be such a pleasant place to visit if the didn’t have the donkeys, instead I had all 3 of my children in tears as you can actually see how depressed the donkeys are and how tightly bound they are so they can’t move....More

It's all well and good people making a living but when you see depressed, frustrated donkeys standing for hours and hours at a time, no water nearby, no grass to stand on just the concrete ground near a shed that they live in, you wonder...More

It's not cheap 15e for a fifteen minute donkey taxi. Having said that, it is a bit of fun and apparently when the road works have finished you will get a longer ride!

First of all Mijas is a very small town. Even though there are so hills to climb the Burro-Taxi is not the way to go. It is very expensive as you pay about 20 euro's for a 15 to 20 minute ride. It is not...More

Yes this is a touristic reminder of what donkeys used to be in the past. But still, this will give young kids (and adults) a great memory from their holidays. Recommended.

How good is this. These donkeys are amazing and well looked after. They take you on a 20 min tour of the town and it's a unique experience.

A must while in Mijas, but total time too short for the price. Price was 10 euro for only a 10 minute ride. Previous years has been longer.
