Great diving experience and great instructors
Sep 2020
We booked a last minute double scuba dive for Sunday morning and Buceo were very accommodating and helpful. The dive instructors were amazing and very knowledgeable - we completed our PADI level 1 last year and hadn't dived since, so the instructors gave us a refresh, helped set up all the equipment and were great throughout both dives.

There are a number of different diving sites based on your experience from shallow to deep dives 30+ metre dives. We did two dives with a max 12 metres which were great - we saw lots of sealife and the waters had good visibility. The dive sites we went to were in Caboneras which was a very short drive from the diving centre. Once there we got a short 5 min boat ride to the dive sites - which was very quick and efficient to get to.

We had 3 dive instructors to 4 divers and they were all great. Very friendly, very experienced and know each site very well.

Was a great morning and would highly recommend :).

*One tip you will need to show your travel insurance document that shows you are covered for scuba diving - this is standard in all travel insurance in the policy cover (usually up to 30m with an instructor) so have it handy before hand! It's a law in Spain that you need to show it!

The BEST first experience scuba diving
Sep 2020 • Couples
As soon as me and my partner arrived we felt so safe. All the guidance was very clear by our incredible instructor ‘JC’. We spent an incredible morning surrounded by thousands of fish in the beautiful sea’s of Mojácar. I would 100% recommend whilst visiting this beautiful place. Thank you JC and team.

Me encanta el buceo!

Fun, friendly & safe!
Sep 2020 • Friends
My friend and I had a great time with these guys today! Super fun but also super professional. Explained the whole protocol / plan and checked our equipment thoroughly before the dive which made us feel prepared and in safe hands. Lovely bunch of instructors who are very kind and respectful to both humans and marine life ;) Special big thanks to JC!

Padi Open Water certification
Jul 2020 • Family
Myself and my four teenagers decided to get certified after having tried a couple of dives last summer down under. Tony and Juan Carlos were both excellent teachers, patient but very thorough, no slacking off allowed! All the staff in “Centro Buceo Mojacár “ were really friendly and welcoming. It was an absolute pleasure to forget about covid for a while and enjoy the wonders underwater. All necessary safety procedures were taken so we felt perfectly safe despite the uncertain times.

Relaxed, wonderful dive
May 2019 • Friends
Absolutely loved our diving with Tony and Juan Carlos. We (two friends) were the only people to have signed up that day, and we were treated with the utmost care and attention. We were slightly nervous, having not dived for a while, and were very well looked after. They helped with our equipment, ensured we were comfortable and took some time to relax on the surface before descending. We did two dives; both were great. Great photography too! Loved our experience and will be back. Thank you Tony and JC!

Avoid due to Poor Equipment and Poor Customer Service
May 2018 • Couples
My wife, daughter and I dived with them today. We are experienced divers, one of us a Divemaster and two Scubamasters.

First the equipment was very poor. My first BCD looked shody, a non working dump valve and the main retainer all twisted and unable to rectify. I took it back and got a newer looking one. My daughter's BCD looked very worn and had a nonoperational dump valve. She got the BCD replaced. Her regulators had a chunk out of the protective coating and she got these replaced. Her replacement regulators had a faulty gauge that showed too low a pressure and these again were replaced. Non of our regulators had anything to indicate when they were last serviced. There were no boots or booties available for the fins. The reason given for not having was due to hygiene but this is nonsense, first dive shop I have encountered in over ten countries plus where this has been said. All the equipment we returned was simply put back in their equipment store!

On the boat my wife's weight belt would not tighten adequately due the buckle being too worn to hold the fabric of the belt. The dive guide simply tied it. She was correctly unhappy with that and a replacement was found.

During the first dive my daughter's pressure gauge was not working properly and only because she was a Divemaster she noticed it was getting harder to breath and I made my way with her to a much shallower depth to conserve air and act as her buddy in case she needed emergency air.

There was a Spanish diver on the second dive with a camera and he basically got most of the attention when there was something to see and happily bumped us out of the way as he required.

There was no where at the harbour to go to the toilet which was a problem for my two girls. I asked the leader if there was somewhere on the 40 minute return trip in the van where they could go to the toilet and without thought he said no! To be clear we were in a large town with lots of restaurants and bars, we could easily have stopped somewhere and bought a quick drink and the girls would have been a lot more comfortable.

I could say many more negative things but I hate doing reviews like this so probably best that I stop here.

If you are a diver avoid unless you have your own equipment.

Dear diver, first of all let me thank you for your constructive critic words, there cannot be the slightest doubt these words help us to improve our service and i would like to answer your comments. On the diving centre we have 30 rental gears in perfect conditions of use and we change them each 3 years. All are gears have pass the maintenance during their time of use. When we detect some breakdown the gear is immediately spared and repaired on our technical service (you will remember our workshop at the end of the material zone, there is where your gears were and where could not be taken by other costumers until been repaired ), being tested by our experts instructors as soonest as posible to reintroduce them with the operative gears. Enforcing with the local law, we have a gear register where all the breakdowns are taking down this register is updated and available for the authorities. We had ask to the instructor who guide your dive about the incident of the bad working of the gauge and the regulator of your daughter. He confirmed the situation and do not succeeded like that, he personally checked the regulator and the gauge under the water checking it works properly, he suggest your daughter to ascent to the safety stop depth during the come back to be relax and to avoid stress problems. Your family in any moment of the dive was unattended or bad supervised and our instructors try to show everyone the local marine life, and we have some awards for that. About the toilet on the harbor is not our responsibility is of the harbors of the Spanish State, we applied for a toilet on the harbor to many times but they do not allow us. Probably due to the language difficulties we did not understand that you would make a fast stop on a bar and we thought you could wait 25 min until arrive to our facilities where you have toilets and showers.

diving good , but .........
Sep 2017 • Solo
I did 2 dives here( the engine, the wall ) and the diving is good lots of life ,the equipment was of good condition except there was no boots for me which did make my dives a little uncomfortable also had to take there dive insurance out (the law apparently) i have dived a lot in spain and always been ok with my travel insurance! The dive sites are a 20mins drive in a mini bus to local town of Carboneras then on to a rib for 10mins .I was the only english diver that day with 9 others mainly spanish the guides English was just about good enough to talk about dive sites other than that i was not made to fill welcome .

First of all, let me thank you for your comment, this kind of things help us to improve our service. Let me answer your complaints, about the boots, we do not have it for hire because is not hygienic at all, but you had it on our shop for those who prefer boot on their dives. About the group problems, sometimes this situation happens, being on a group with a lot of Spanish people and overcoat if no one speak english i understand your feeing of being a little bit out of the group, sometimes happens the opposite situation with English people. We regret any inconvenience that the language may have caused you.

Friendly dive centre
Oct 2016 • Solo
Positives:

Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Interesting dive sites (Aquarium 1 & 2) with plenty of marine life. 2 good 35 minute dives (18m & 10m).

Apologised for poor visibility due to weather/tides - but as a UK diver I get excited by 10m vis (apparently 30m is the norm).

Well equipped RIB with rear ladder making exit easy.

Guide quickly replaced my gauge when started to leak air.

Felt safe and well looked after throughout dive.

Could improve:

Boat is moored in Carboneras which is a 20 minute drive in a minibus that has clearly had an interesting life!

No changing facilities at boat mooring - ok for divers used to getting changed wherever, but perhaps not suited to all.

The hired equipment worked ok but felt a little tired and could do with being replaced/updated.

Good dive Centre
Jul 2016 • Family
Only had a two tank dive, as I was with the family. The only day I could dive was with 10 other divers, with mixed ability, so catered for the less experienced divers on that day which is fine, great staff and organisation, very professional with safety and dive plan
