they do not have a tour but a tasting room that was relaxing and quiet from the rest of the port houses. They paired them with some chocolate which was a nice way to taste.

I am so glad we chose Kopke for a wine and port tasting! There are an overwhelming number of choices for places to go to taste port, but Kopke made for a perfect treat. Kopke does not offer a tour, just tasting, but since we...More

We were led through a flight of 5 ports (the "excellent" flight I believe it was called) and had and additional two old and really fine ports added to the flight along with a plate of chocolate treats that nicely complimented the wines. Our hostess,...More

Our objective was simple, we wanted to purchase a late year vintage at an acceptable price. Kopke sale' staff was not pushy. They were knowledgeable and helpful. We were in and out with a fine vintage port to remind us of our Douro cruise in...More

Kopke is the oldest and the best! We tried a number of Port tasting/tours along the Vila Nova de Gaia and this is the one that we would do again! There is no tour...just a perfect tasting! This place is busy and doesn't take reservations...More

The oldest port house in Porto and one of the best for sure. We had a great afternoon of wine and port tasting. Accompanied with chocolates - so it’s perfect! The staff were lovely and informative giving a great overview and lesson. We sat upstairs...More

The staff were very informative and there was a long list of ports to try. The tasting was paired with chocolates or crackers. A nice way to end the afternoon.

No tours available here, just a tasting room and shop. The gentleman in the shop on the ground floor was quite formal and unwelcoming as we came in, but despite this, we went upstairs to the tasting room after talking to him about what we...More

Casa Kopke hasn’t adapted yet to the tourist influx Porto has attained. It’s a very old school tasting room, and you won’t get a tour of the cellars because it’s only a tasting room. The staff isn’t very good at describing or suggestions, they are...More

Hello from Peter and Valmai Kopke in Western Australia! We are thinking of visiting Portugal in the next year or two and we would, of course, like to visit the Casa Kopke vineyard. Would you please let us know exactly where you are and also make suggestions as to where / places / towns / areas we should stay during our visit? We have been thinking of doing a river cruise and have received a brochure but we want to make sure that we can visit Casa Kopke! Our grandson has just made a most beautifully crafted timber box at school for ornamental presentation of his father's bottle of Kopke port! My husband's grandfather was Frederick Herman Kopke who came out to South Australia from Hamburg in the late 1800's. He later travelled to Western Australia to drill for water and ended up buying a pastoral property (nearly 300,000 acres) 700 miles north of Perth on the coast south of Carnarvon. His son, Alan Frederick Herman Kopke bought the adjoining statio and his grandson, Peter Alan Frederick Kopke, remained there all his working life. We look forward to hearing from you.
