We were especially unlucky because the week we stayed in Ponta da Sol (June 2018) they were reconstructing the beach after a winter storm - so it was taken up by diggers and trucks.

We stayed at the hotel Estalagem do Ponta do Sol, right above this nice little village. There are cafes, small shops and various restaurants to visit but above all there's the sea side with rocky beach. Don't miss the sunset!
Not much to say on this one except though lots of people swam, got a tan etc I personally didn't like it. The hotel we were in was opposite the beach and on an average day 15/25 people were there little cramped.

I do not like beach holidays so the fact there is no sand does not bother me. People visit Ponta do Sol for its sunshine and position on the island for touring. Anyone wanting a beach should stay away and that seems to apply to...More
