About
Vilamoura Marina was the pioneer in Portugal and today it is still what it always was: the largest Marina in Portugal, voted the best, time after time, by the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards. These awards have only been possible because “our” Marina kept growing and developing, keeping step with the changing needs of clients and adapting in order to be able to respond to the growing demands of its users. Additionally, at Vilamoura Marina, we have made a firm commitment to offer the highest standards of service and hospitality. The supply of clear and useful information is an important part of that service. We would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone, to wish everyone an excellent stay, and we trust that the winds will continue to blow in our favour.

We was staying in vilamoura and we went to this beautiful Chinese restaurant called Golden Marina where they do Asian cuisine and sushi fusion.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming we had a menu and we was able to choose what we wanted to eat we decided to go for the all you can eat buffet where you write down what numbers you want from the menu and they cook to order and bring this to you. The rule is you must eat everything that they bring out to you before you are allowed to order anything else. Any food that you don’t eat then they will have to charge you for at the end of your bill. If it’s a small amount then they will allow you to have that amount to take away with you.

The food that we ordered was amazing it was a lot of food we ordered Chinese as well as sushi and when I say it was a lot it was a lot worth the money spent. In total we spent 45 euros we had two glasses of wine six main dishes plus the tray of sushi well worth the money.

I would highly recommend you go to this restaurant you may have to call first so you can book a table as they was very busy when we was there. 0926053885

We have been in Portugal for six weeks and still have two to go. During our travels we have visited Lisbon for a few days, Cascais for two weeks and the rest of our time has been in Vilamoura. We rented an apartment overlooking the Marina and have a wonderful view. There are so many restaurants around the Marina is it hard to choose where to go but we have a few favorites and one or two “never agains”. But your find that everywhere. It is a pleasant walk around the Marina and there are many shops to explore, many with reasonable prices and a few with outrageous prices, again you find that everywhere. The beaches are beautiful but I found the beaches in Quarteria are nicer and the water warmer! Locals said it was due to the currents. There are plenty of sight seeing trips available for all ages. Check out the prices because some places charge more for the same tour. I found the Vilamoura Information Center had the best prices. After all of the positives why don’t I love it? The noise at night! Things don’t even get going until 9-10 at night and carry on until 1-2 in the morning. I am sure if we were staying a few blocks away from the Marina it would be quieter. We are renting a car for a week to tour several other cities near by for a change of scenery. Will I be back, of course and maybe if I am not in the epicenter of the noise I will love it.

my wife and i stayed at the marina last march 2020 before the lockdown, we found the whole experience wonderful, this was my first time in portugal and i was not dissappointed. we were warned it was an expensive place to eat however i found the contary, the choices were wide ranging there were shops and bars with reasonable prices for both alcohol and food. there was even the obigatory irish bar. i would highly recommned it. we ate almost in a different place every evening we went out. we had a wonderful view over the marina and watched the sunset every night. there are several places in the marins to get tickets for the local sights both on land and at sea again reasonable prices. we found staff at all of the shops and restaurant we visited very friendly and helpful. we would definitely return.

I wouldn't go all the way down to Algarve only to visit "Marina de Vilamoura". It is just a marina, as there are many others all around the world. But visiting Southern Portugal, why not a quick stop at it, maybe having lunch or just some coffee ... A broad sidewalk contours the marina, restaurants, cafés and shops are all over. Prices on the expensive side, due to the very affluent guests that leave their yachts and boats at anchor in the "Marina de Vilamoura". Nothing special, nothing very impressive or unforgettable. Just pricey! Enjoy!

Great atmosphere with plenty of choices for food & entertainment.

Being vegetarian & vegan we usually struggle to find somewhere to eat (that isn’t pasta or salad), we were very surprised to find nearly every restaurant had something to offer us.

There are shops, karaoke bars, sports pubs & arcades so families wouldn’t find struggle to keep the kids entertained!

The harbour is a beautiful place to be at sunset & didn’t feel over crowded

The marina is packed with a variety of bars and restaurants. When the sun is out, it's a lovely place to have a drink by the water and there are very many bars. Some of the restaurants are rather over-priced, but the best is Il Lamparo which serves excellent Italian dishes at a decent price.

There’s not a lot to do in Villamoura , except walk around staring at rich peoples yachts and overpriced restaurants, and tacky souvenirs shops. Weather is not good off season when we came unfortunately. I’m sure it’s more lively in the season. It seems tired in appearance and worn out. It doesn’t look like a traditional old European town at all which surprised me. It’s very damp here and lots of mildew and mold in the apartment. I just don’t get the attraction to this place. Go to Florida. Looks the same and cheaper to fly to. Canadians like Villamoura off season because it’s reasonable rent prices and golf prices! People are very nice and food is very good. Would I recommend this place? No. Not impressed at all!

We visited Vilamoura Marina for a couple of hours from Albufeira using the hop on hop off bus service. It was nice to walk around the marina and have a look at the very expensive boats. There are various cafes and bars around the marina, plus a few shops.

We have visited several times and its buzzy. We were here in January and obviously it was much quieter as quite a few businesses take their holiday at this time of year - but enough restaurants and bars open to have a good choice of food. Its not very big so not a place for constant visits, but a lovely 'hub.' There is now a lovely prom from Vilamoura straight in to Quarteria which is always lively during the day with visitors walking the prom right next to the beach and all the markets are in Quarteria. Its about a 20 minute walk along a lovely prom with benches for a rest if needed and an easy flat cycle.

I saw all negative reviews but I really don’t agree. It’s stunning and we stayed within 5 minutes walk away. The restaurants were superb that we went to. It’s definitely more expensive than other parts of Portugal but it’s prime location sitting having drinks, food whatever right on the water. I never found staff I shops or restaurants nothing but appreciated of your business. Food was terrific mainly fish and prawns and mussels were huge and delicious. Plenty of bars to suit your needs the loud music ones or the quiet ones with background music. Yes there are a lot of golfers but never saw any arguments or ignorance from them. It’s a stunning place for couples that want that time away to eat drink and relax we stayed 12 nights and we will go back.
