We were not sure if we should visit Alcantara as some of the reviews were not very appealing. However we booked our public bus from the bus station in Taormina ( just be careful you don’t miss the bus - we were looking for the...More

We passed the main car park (from Taormina) on the left, then the communal entrance on the left. Just another 100 metres up there is an area for free parking on the right, if you are early and lucky enough. Buy a ticket for €1.50...More

Good day out. The gorge is fantastic, really loved paddling in the icy water. You can hire bikes and waders. Or even go rafting.

Wonderful gore very close to Giardino di Naxos. I didn't like at all the shops and attractions they build around this peaceful location. Also the thematic park looks very cheap and abandoned...

The photos posted are even more impressive in real life. Amazing to see the effect of nature, and great that you can get so close to it all. Wading up and down the river is an enjoyable experience.

We visited in September and after being given the option of 8€ for the lift down or 13€ for the trails we opted for the second. Unfortunately no one bothered to inform us that half of the park was being 'redeveloped' and we were only...More
