We loved wandering the little alleyways on a circle and within a labyrinth. We loved the surprises that came from each turn and corner. Many shops.and cafes. Interesting and cute.

My wife and I strolled through the empty alleyways of the town area leading up the beautiful Kastro one day during our stay in Naxos. Its a very peaceful walk up and we made many photo stops of the incredible white buildings with the blue...More

Very interesting to walk around if you like stairs. There are houses inside the walls of the castle and there people living there! There is also a museum and a catholic church.

Don't worry, we might have gotten slightly lost a couple of times, but you can easily find your way again. Every twist and turn of the streets reveals something new to catch your eye...architecture, a cat on an impossible ledge, glimpse of the harbor, the...More

Above old town towers the Venetian Castle or Kastro in Greek. Beautiful area of Chora with narrow streets, alleys and arches. You basically walk around it moving higher and higher, circling it fully and seeing the old walls, towers and gates from all sides. Great...More

Nothing much to view at the top. Better view is from the port, when you first come to the island and see Chora for the first time. There are better historical castles in Rhodos and Kerkyra.

This kastro is not like any other castle. It doesn't have battlements or the usually castle walls. Instead the outer fortifications are houses built by the Venetian lords. The whole area is amazing with only three gates into it and a tower in the midst,...More

There are many boats to visit Naxos Island. Of course from Santorini port you can arrive into 3 hours with blue star ferries.
