Very well restored castle of the medieval period. A place must visit when in Naxos. Visit the Ursulines Monastery, a recently restored building of excellent architecture and beauty

The old town has remained unchanged through the centuries with is narrow walks between houses, shops and small churches. The maze towards the top of the castle where one can be treated to the early Cycladic museum with artifacts dating 3,000 BC. A real gem!

Kastraki is very pitoresque and what makes it more interesting is that people live in the old houses for thousands of years! You can find little shops, taverns, wine bars and a cafeteria in the roof with view! There is also an elevator to take...More

There is not much to the castle part of Naxos Town/Hora. It makes a nice, picturesque top for the town, but to my understanding, all that there is to it is a tower that you cannot access and maybe a few walls. If you are...More

Take a wander around the Kastro (old walled city part of Naxos Hora) in the late afternoon/early evening. It is beautiful and interesting, with some very cute shops and places to stop for a drink.

Go to the castle and, then, walk down the labirinthic and joyful alleys filled with shops and restaurants till the port. Explore the old maket street and have a drink or ice cream around. Not to miss, especially by night!

You get here by walking and walking up the stairs and streets of the old town of Naxos. You can't get into the castle but the area is lovely.

We had fun just walking through this area and taking pictures. There are little paths that lead to restaurants, apartments, shops. Very interesting area. Inside the castle you could see a few rooms and I think it was a replica of a small church dome.

There are many boats to visit Naxos Island. Of course from Santorini port you can arrive into 3 hours with blue star ferries.
