An easy walk from Naxos Town up the hill overlooking the harbor. Beautiful views of the island and Naxos Town from the top of the hill.

You shouldn't go to Naxos and miss the Portara. It's unique an provides a great view of Naxos Town. It's worth a visit at any time but it's magical when the sun is setting

It was great to go up and see this. First day we went it was very windy and the waves were crashing against the break water. Lots of seaweed on the path too so it was slippery. But it was very entertaining to see my...More

It has a panoramic view of the sunset but it is worth visiting at sunrise if you have the courage to climb after the abundant drinks in the clubs of the island!!

There is not much of a temple left but the view of the old town and port from Portara is very picturesque. Try getting there at sunset.

The steps are short and easy and really it isn’t such a long way up. Once there the view of Naxos is amazing. The ruins are incredible close up and quite majestic.

The walk up to Portara is well worth it, any time of day. It's a beautiful place to catch sunset, and also for a fabulous shot back onto Chora. The temple itself is stunning. Not to be missed.
