Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small village with three or four groups of houses, all built of stone with no mortar or wood. The roofs are just dry stone walling curved to meet at the top. Some houses are furnished to show how people used to live (though I suspect they did not all have so many pots and dishes). No windows, which makes them cool inside on a hot day.

Unlike the "nearby" Village des Borries in Gordes (museumlike setup) you will find yourself back in the past, when men have built these dry-stone edificies with their own hands. Stroll on your own (you get a nice introduction by the gate keeper) through the "village", discover the houses from different times, rainwater collection systems and remarkable walls. You drive or even walk from Bonnieux. Open April to November. A truly amazing experience!

The history of the region goes back to the Stone Ages. There are layers of history that you can experience first hand. The region is not only about the hill castle towns but also the archeological sites from people that have been in the region for thousands of years to Roman occupation and the Dark Ages.

Now permanently closed, despite signs saying open every day. Very disappointing. Walked about a mile only to find the gates chained and locked. This site needs proper signage on the road.
We would have really enjoyed seeing this historical site.

I've been there twice, and I am in love with this place. Walking by the Enclos, you can discover dry stone houses from different times, an incredible court yard for hives, wells dug into the rock pit, borries with deadly to protect the protestants during religious war ... interesting and charming walk under the oak trees. So much more authentic than the too famous village des bories of Gordes (to avoid). And do not miss the panoramic view of the valley Calavon, the Monts de Vaucluse, Mont Ventoux, the Luberon, Bonnieux and Lacoste. Worth the walk from the village or the drive in the rutted road. You can have picnic there, just ask the lady for some seats and choose your shady lunch place. Enjoy it

We would have driven past this but for the 3 buses parked at the top of the access road. Drive down if you have a car, or walk up from Bonnieux to see a privately run attraction that is aa cleared area of these very old to not so old stacked stone houses. This was an unexpected highlight of our 4 days in Bonnieux

It took us a while to find it. Yes, there are signs but once you enter the Luberon, you can easily miss it because the views are so enticing. We made it in and the fee of 5 euros per adult were doable. The owner was very friendly and had a lot of information about the place (if you can speak French). There was a leaflet in English with minimal information. The kids got in free. (till age 12). They were a little tired after seeing the fourth or fifth bory because they all seemed the same to them. We did enjoy the walk and we tried to enter all the bories we could without having a meltdown. Definitely a nice distraction if you can read up on it before you go.

We enjoyed our visit to the Bories. It was interesting to see how they were built and how people lived. It is a little difficult to get to and not well marked.

I walked to this site today but did not enter. The entry fee is 5 Euros and I did not see the value. The walk to Enclos des Bories is not well sign posted and the track is currently in poor condition. If you are used to bushwalking the track is OK but if you do not walk in the country you might find the track condition difficult. Hopefully what is availble to enlighten visitors about the Enclos des Bories inside the enclosure is worthwhile.
