St. Martin in island de re off the coast of La Rochelle with its separate walled citadelle. Parking very close by and walk through and along the fortified walled areas with excellent veiws of the sea. Park up and experience this.

This fort has been reconstructed somewhat. it was used for different purposes over the years and thus makes for an interesting historical visit. there is a small fee which may help the restoration. Recommend for a visit.
