This church was badly damaged in WW2 but having seen it in 2018 you would think it was as built by then medieval masons. A place of quiet contemplation

In 1512 Louis XII of France married Mary Tudor (sister of Henry VIII) in a chapel in this church. The lady on duty here was very helpful and spoke fluent English. Free admission and we could carry our little dog in our arms.

This church looks authentically old. Like most churches it has stained-glass windows and some religious paintings. What I liked most were the sculptures at the church's exterior and interior walls, and also what seemed to be an ivory sculpture at one of the altars.

Even if the cathedral did not complete, the parts present are really showing off a beauty of details.

We visited Abbeville to see the beautiful Collegiate Church of St Vulfran and couldn't believe that it was closed on a Sunday, the most important day of the week for Christian churches. The exterior is stunning with beautiful carvings, but it would have been nice...More
