I visited during a tour while on a repositioning Holland America cruise in April 2018. This is nice to see the length of the beaches around the D-Day battle. Includes a small town, Arromanches-les-Bains in France, that is super to walk around. I recommend!

Arromanches boasts fantastic and interesting views of the D day landing beaches and the spectacular infrastructure built to liberate France in WWII. I highly recommend visiting the museum in Arromanches in conjunction with the scenic view of the cliffs. I have spent most of my...More

The cliffs offer gorgeous views of the Channel, but the power of the experience comes from seeing the remnants of the D-Day invasion and contemplating the extreme mix of emotions wrapped up in that courageous landing and battle. If you don't know much of the...More

Best views from this drive are during low tide when the equipment used to form the man made harbour are most readily visible. If you are lucky this will be near sunset one day (tides depending) when it would be at its most spectacular. 2264oos

Here you see the landing beaches of both Américain and British soldiers and you see the port they needed to come on shore.

Wonderful views along the coast, worth the walk up from the beach to see. A Sherman tank stands overlooking the artificial harbour.

You can only imagine what it was like to look out and see the huge Allied Armada steaming towards this point. Then again, what it might have been like to glance up these cliffs and wonder how you would get up to the top.It is...More

Excellent view of the landing site of Gold Beach. Definitely come up & have a look, even if you don't intend to go to 360 Arromanches. You get a real sense of the scope. Take the free train/team if you'll have a hard time walking...More
