This cemetery is beautiful, well-kept and peaceful. It is lovely to see the Canadian Maple trees growing here- a sense of home for our Canadian troops. There was a thought in our family many years ago that we wished that my Uncle Peter's remains would come home to be with his family. After visits by various family members, we know that the right place is to stay is in this cemetery with his comrades. (Rifleman Peter McCormack, New Zealand, PEI, WW2-died October 30, 1944) The Canadian-Polish War Museum in the area is well-done and a must see.

While vacationing in France, my wife and I along with another Canadian couple visited the Adegem War Cemetery where my wife’s Uncle, who died in October, 1944, is buried. He was a private with the Regina Rifle Regiment who was killed three months after being posted. The Cemetery which was easy to find, was very well maintained and located in a quite, country-like setting. Visiting the cemetery and the gravel site was a very somber experience; one we will forever remember.

Well kept military cemetery. This one is mainly Canadian war dead as per the name of the cemetery, but also contains some french, Polis and British graves. Been twice now to see a grave of a relative and always moved by the experience.

My great uncle is buried here He was killed September 23 1944. I was the first family member to visit his gravesite. Adegem is impeccably kept I placed his picture and a Canadian flag on the grave. There is a boom where you can look up the name and it details the row numbers for you

There is no direct bus service so we had to walk-hitch hike about 10 Km from the Brugge bus stop at Maldegem village. We were welcomed by the 2 friendly drivers who helped us there and back.. The Cemetery is impeccably groomed by grateful locals. A truly sobering, sad experience .. our uncle was just 17 yrs.. Stormont & Glengary .. Ontario.. There is a visitor's book at the rear. Make the effort, you will be glad and so proud.
