So happy to see BOW doing so well again! Like new❤️
Very impressed with all the changes! Excellent selection of wines and beers as always! Even some new ones. Awesome lobster food truck outside and so happy to see they have KNEAD pizza available outside on weekends I believe. Everyone was warm and friendly, and Offering service with a smile and excellent conversation. The crowd was buzzing and neighborly. We will likely become members now! Great job BOW.

    Wife's 50th was outstanding!
I reserved Barrel Oak Winery's larger private space for a 60+ person 50th Birthday party for my wife. The reservation process, the follow-up before the big day, the sincere concern for making my wife's special day a success, and the overall presentation and atmosphere of the venue was absolutely awesome. Mellissa communicated clearly about cost and expectations, and she checked with me as we set up, while the party was going on, and even as we cleaned up. Maryanne and Carmen were our wine and beer experts who were two of the most pleasant servers I have ever been involved with. These ladies served all our guest quickly, with knowledge of the wines and beers, and with welcoming smiles. It was worth every dollar spent. The bottom line for me is that my wife, and our family and friends, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend Barrel Oak Winery for an afternoon date, small get togethers, and especially for large celebrations. Great spaces, great service, great wines and beers, and absolutely great people!

    Wedding reception at Barrel Oak
My husband and I just had our wedding reception at Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery. As soon as we walked in and saw the beautiful views, we were hooked. Things only got better when we had the absolute pleasure meeting and working with Melissa. Working with her and her team was delightful and easy, everyone was so accommodating, kind, and welcoming. Melissa guided us through the planning effortlessly. At our event, the wonderful staff even shared that they had been praying for us to have great weather!! I highly recommend having any event at Barrel Oak, everything from the ambiance to the wine and beer to the food was fantastic. We left with great memories, full bellies and new friends! We can’t wait to come back every year for our anniversary. We also started at the cottage on property and had a wonderful time. It is beautifully decorated, has a huge shower and bath and incredible views, definitely recommend staying there!

Fantastic Employee Event at Barrel Oak Winery
We recently traveled from Washington, DC, to hold an employee event at Barrel Oak Winery and had a fantastic experience. Melissa, the event coordinator, was wonderful to work with. The property was beautiful, the wine tasting was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and the food was great. We used Chariots for Hire for transportation and enjoyed that experience as well. Highly recommended!

Event at Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery
Barrel Oak Winery and Brewery hosted an extraordinary event to honor the life of my late husband, David. I had the privilege of working closely with Melissa, their exceptional event. The charcuterie boards were exquisite, and we served my husband's favorite pizza, fittingly named "The David," which added a personal touch to the event. Melissa also captured heartfelt photos and videos throughout the celebration, for which I am profoundly grateful. The attention to detail was impeccable, and every member of the team demonstrated genuine compassion and empathy towards our family. The venue was not only beautiful but also perfectly suited for the occasion, making the day truly unforgettable. My deepest thanks go out to everyone involved.

The wine is good but be prepared if you bring anyone
under 21. You have to sit in the tower room that has
windows covered with plastic sheeting and curtains
Beautiful views? You won't see them. The other option is
in the loft and if you bring someone who has limited
mobility, that won't happen.

Also, do not plan to be able to move a table. You will be
told that "we do not move tables here and we do not
accept parties of 8 or more". We only had five at the time
and were expecting two more, but OK.

We finished our bottle and some food and then went to
the next vineyard up the hill. They could not have been
nicer.

Businesses have rules and we get it. We really do. But
sending a family with a 15 year old into a room filled with
toddlers and no views, you quickly realize that your
business isn't needed and you should consider going
elsewhere.

Best of luck to them. Family friendly? Nope.

This place has a lot of potential. It looks so fun, but we got there around 3:30 (they close at 5pm) and weren’t greeted warmly at all. The staff there at the time seemed very young and our party of 6 felt almost like an inconvenience to them (an hour and a half before closing). They don’t do wood fired pizza during the weekend so be aware of that. There is signage EVERYWHERE and that vibe was definitely felt on the property in general. From the moment you park (“forward parking please”) to the tables even down the glasses, there are signs and rules. It’s pretty obnoxious. My husbands beer glass actually had “please do not take. Please return to server.” printed on it. Since we were there we all got a glass of something, drank it and left. The young staff seemed to be watching us and we heard them ask other customers if they’d paid their tab yet. We won’t return. The beer and wine was good but the service and hospitality was not at all what were used to or expect in VA.

The place itself is very nice inside and out from what I could see. I've driven by this place countless times to/from work, and being that my anniversary was coming up, I thought I'd buy a nice bottle of wine. I will say the wine was good, but not worth $48.00!! There are PLENTY of other wineries in the area that I KNOW for a fact have just as good if not better wines for much less. I did not have my glasses with me so I could not see the prices. The young lady wrote up the bill before I could even ask any questions, so I bought it and immediately regretted it. In all it was my fault for not enquiring, but I "assumed" they would be competitively priced with the surrounding wineries--I was wrong. It's ok, I WON'T go back.

Came here as our last stop on a weekend trip. Seemed like a fun place , wine and beer, we were excited . Came in and the young staff wasn’t very welcoming … when asked about a semi sweet wine for summer , she took out a list and just said it’s our main list and she recommended the house wine.
The staff wasn’t friendly, there was signs everywhere that made us feel very uncomfortable. Not a relaxed atmosphere and very uptight . Not what you want for a wine country weekend. Felt like we were being watched., And almost pushed out even though we came an hour and half before closing. We quickly drank our beverages and left because we felt not welcome… very different from the other wineries we love so much.

We LOVE Bluemont winery
Fleetwood, and Breaux.

It is a beautiful location. Very dog friendly. The music was wonderful. There were some major negatives, however. The winery now does not let you bring food in. We have been trying to order food since 2 pm so we can get some
Food in our systems besides alcohol for the ride home. The pizza tent has refused to take orders since two pm and they keep pushing the time out when you can order. Now it’s 3:15 when you can order. There is no food available inside either. It has been very frustrating due to the fact the pizza tent keeps pushing out the time every 15 minutes. People should be able to bring in food if it isn’t readily available. We have been trying to get food since 1:45 pm, it’s now 3:00 pm. We are leaving. There are other wineries that are local that have better customer service like Naked winery. Go there not here! They have excellent food and excellent customer service. We will not come back to Bow Wow

My daughter and I visited this winery in January. All of the employees were very friendly. I liked that they are very pet friendly as well, welcoming our fur friends even inside! It has a rustic feel and is very cozy, complete with fireplace and amazing views. There is even a brewery on location. We sampled both the beer and the wine and everything was delicious! The house blend red was so good I had to take some home. I’m looking forward to going back again soon. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice.

We were very impressed with this winery. We especially liked the reserve Chardonnay and the Pinot noir. Out of all the wineries we went to we enjoy the wine here the best in The area. They permit you to bring a picnic lunch and the setting is very peaceful. We met the owner, the manager and the staff. They were all very attentive and helpful. I would definitely come back to this winery.

Lovely afternoon! Very chill and relaxing. We loved the well spaced tables with umbrellas on the lawn. We brought our own picnic. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our family group tried the red and mixed wine flights and brought a few bottles home. Loved the Chocolate Lab and Vintners Select Rose the best. Wonderful views!

My wife and I went to this winery yesterday and to say the least we were not impressed or wowed at all. The biggest issue was when we first arrived no one offered to help us while we at the tasting counter and then when we ordered snacks no one offered to help us carry it or give us some kind of assistance while we went outside to sit at one of the picnic tables. We’ve been to some outstanding wineries in the past and needless to say I don’t think we’ll be venturing back to this one.
