Delaplane is a fun experience that leaves one wanting to visit again! A beautiful vineyard, relaxing and generous pours, great food pairing, and beautiful ambiance. The staff is friendly, attentive and welcoming. The wines are delicious, therefore, I highly recommend the wine club. This is a place for adults to relax and enjoy! Outstanding! I highly recommend.

We went to Delaplane Cellars for a 4 PM appointment and we were not disappointed. We sat outside in a giant tent with views of the estate vineyards. We each did a flight of wines and then each had a glass of wine with an order of their Cellar Bread, which was just yummy. The wines we tasted were all very good. Our server even let us taste a bunch of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that had just been harvested. Quite a treat!

We love going to Delaplane Cellars. We always have great service and this visit was no exception. We enjoyed wonderful service from everyone especially Jeremy and Lauren. The wines are all very good and Virginia grown. We’ve been wine club members for 10 years. The tasting room and view are top notch as well.

We met friends here for Easter brunch. We were pleasantly surprised they took reservations. We took a picnic brunch and enjoyed their wines. Lovely indoor space and beautiful patio, with a few firepit tables.

Visited a few vineyards on a recent trip. We all agreed this was our favorite. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Beautiful setting & outdoor seating. Wine sampler was enjoyed & we ordered a bottle to finish off the picnic lunch we brought with. Also don’t miss the hot fresh bread!

Visited Delaplane Cellars vineyard today. Wine Tasting over-priced for stingy 5-samples and stingy quantities in each sample. Counter staff were VERY rude. Refused to allow my daughter to sit at table during Wine Tasting of parents; refused to allow my daughter to stand at our beside at the Tasting Bar and scolded us repeatedly every time daughter even touched the counter-top. When I asked for explanation, Staff got even more rude and argumentative. We just left disappointed. With hundreds of better, more customer-friendly Vineyards throughout Virginia...and a dozen of them within 50 miles of this place...We recommend that all families that come to the vineyard for romance and friendly afternoon of relaxing fun...should avoid Delaplane Cellars at all costs. The Staff are so rude, we will never recommend this place to anyone.

My friends and I arrived at Delaplane Cellars on a recent Sunday afternoon via limousine eagerly anticipating a relaxing and enjoyable wine tasting experience. Instead we were met with angry and sharp instructions to leave immediately (before we could even exit the limo.) A woman and her husband (we presume) came out to our limo and spoke very rudely to our driver and made threats to call the sheriff. While one member of our party admitted that she saw a sign stating that limos weren't allowed, we were still quite confused by this incredible display of hostility. Our group hostess, then decided that she would go into the esablishment to ask either the manager or the owner about this rule and see about the possibility of our limo driver leaving us to enjoy our wine tasting while waiting at another location until we were finished. However, the manager would not even listen to her much less engage in civil conversation. My friend was, instead scolded and repeatedly told to leave. At first she was told that " Delaplane does not take parties larger than 6." When our host responded that our party was just six, she was met with, "We do not accept limos" (with no explanation). As our limo was turning around to leave, the owner and her husband continued to demand that we leave (which we were doing) and did call the sheriff and report our limo license plate. I cannot remember another time in my adult life that I have ever been treated with such insolence. We were a group of well dressed middle aged women ready to enjoy the sophisticated and satisfying wine tasting experience Delaplane promotes.
I will NEVER go there again and I encourage any wine enthusiasts who are touring the Northern Virginia Winerys to leave this one off the list.

My girlfriends and I planned a winery tour with a local limo service for today. I requested only 3 wineries for various reasons .... Vintage Ridge, Delaplane Cellars, and Barrel Oak. Vintage Ridge was welcoming, lovely wine, delicious pairings and great service. Delaplane Cellars was none of the above. The owner and manager wouldn't even let us enter their winery. They were rude!!!!! Why?? because we were being responsible and arriving in a limo? They wouldn't even suggest a location for our driver to park and wait while six ladies continued to enjoy their afternoon. They went as far as calling the police, as our driver was turning around to exit!!! The owners standing in our limo drivers way as he's attempting the leave. We left there insulted, embarrassed and angry to be treated so rudely. The owner and manager could have handled the situation more professionsally. We gave them opportunity to do so and they chose not to. We were dumbfounded!! We moved on, as they left us no choice ..... too many wineries to see, who would appreciate our company and our business. Thank you Barrel Oak for your warm and friendly welcome. We enjoyed our afternoon with you. I highly recommend Vintage Ridge and Barrel Oak. They are class acts!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO DELAPLANE CELLARS!!!!!

TERRIBLE! STAY AWAY!!! We had a party of 9 ( 5 supposed to taste and 4 not) WELL- they would not let the other 4 sit down or even sit with us IF we had purchased a bottle for consumption on premise! We were told by a server that if we did not like it to LEAVE! We were very civil and this was the 1st winery stop. TERRIBLE SERVICE! OVERPRICED FOOD $28 for a cheese and sausage plate that would barely feed 2 OUTRAGEOUS!!! STAY AWAY there are MANY other wineries that deserve our business! BAD BAD BAD!!!!

A bunch of friends ran into each other at the winery and decided to combine tables. We proceeded to purchase five bottles of wine and enjoy the view. Within minutes , we were berated by the manager/owner. She said parties of six weren't allowed. So we asked for a solution - should we separate the tables? She repeated that parties of six weren't allowed four times. We finally lost our patience and asked if we should leave. She heaved and huffed and said she's let it go. Excuse me, let it go? We're paying customers! And there were two tables of ten right near us who never got the 2nd degree. We experienced the same hostile, rude customer experience at the tasting (who were discussing how we got reprimanded right while pouring wine for us). There are other wineries such as Barrel Oak, Hillsborough, Mediterranean Cellars, Narmada, which welcome their guest with friendly service and much better wine. I felt like I stepped into VA circa 1900 and should have sat at a designated table. Needless to say, we're not returning and I'm spreading the word about this on other sites.
