Wife and I traveled to see this since we already saw the larger Smithsonian in DC. This was an awesome stop for us. It has so many different aircraft including the Space Shuttle Discovery, Enola Gay, Concorde among others.

When it comes to Air/Space Museums, this one is hard to beat. They have something for every type of aviation enthusiast. The collection includes some of histories most significant aircraft. You can stand next to the Enola Gay B-17, then a few steps later you...More

This was an awesome place to spend a few hours before heading to downtown DC. We were staying for business in Tyson's corner and this was a short drive out to see an amazing display of planes, rockets, capsules and the space shuttle Discovery. My...More

This is a must for any visitor to the area. You do need to pay for parking, but the museum is free. The actual planes flown in combat, the space station, and the restoration work in progress are highlights. We were fortunate to take a...More

Wear comfortable shoes! So much to see. Allow time to see movies/shows at the IMAX theater and the planetarium, and do the flight simulators. Entrance to the museum is free, however there are admission fees for the movies and simulators. All are well worth it!

We really enjoyed our day at the Udvar Hazy Center. Our son especially liked the WWII airplanes, viewing the restoration area.. The docents were excellent. For tourists interested in coming via public transportation from DC - do NOT use Google Maps, it is incorrect. Just...More
