Recently went with a school group. Lovely shallow natural pools. Very safe for all the family. Only 9 euros for a car with all its occupants. Bar and toilets. Glorious scenery and driving in the mountains to get to Rascafria. Can be very busy in summer. Would definitely recommend.

This is one of the best places to visit with family and kids. You can choose from free nearby parking to 9 euros parking in site to enjoy the most amazing natural pools (man made to catch the clear water stream). Just 45 min. from Madrid the city through a beautiful landscape of mountain town with amazing restaurants of typical spanish food. Perfect for families with kids, although the place is so roomy that even couples or solos can enjoy the place as well.

We stumbled across this location en route to the nearby village. Once you park up (free to park off-season), people are able rest & play around the side of a natural reservoir with maintained grass to throw out a blanket & bring your lunch. A small cafe provides snacks and public toilets. Beyond you can follow a off-track road leading you pats open fields of cattle and horses to a small waterfall.

Visited in October, and it really felt as though people had packed up for the year! There's a genuine alpine feel to the surrounding villages and the atmosphere and scenery are wonderful. Having said that, at this time of year it felt a little bit like wading into a duck pond when we tried to go swimming.

After visit the monastery de "El Paular" we went to Las Presillas a few small pools made as dams with green grass and a forest around. A lot of nature, you can walk and take a swim in the pools, make picnic, sunbathing. There's a parking lot, you have to pay 5€ to get in, there are WC and a small kiosk that sells beverages and snacks. Good for all edges
