No regrets! Intereting place to see.
It's only 15 minutes from Fredericksburg and we thought it was well worth the drive. You can see when music will be playing on there website. It's so much fun to hang out there for a bit. We brought our lunch with us since we knew the food truck would not be there and ate under a tree listening to music. Then we shopped in the store. Fun way to spend some time.

    Music, Beer and friendly crowd
This was a really fun afternoon. We knew there would be free, live music for a few hours. There was a group of 4 guitarists who sang individually and together and was enjoyed by a good audience, all drinking and/or eating at picnic tables under the trees. Also, a big band wasrehearsing in the large hall for the evening. Also a lovely gift shop, general store (in the PO), beer and drinks for sale and well-signposted restrooms. Plenty of parking and only 15 mins from Fredericksburg. Don't pass up this thoroughly entertaining visit.

    Cool Historic Stop
For some reason this little spot was on my bucket list. Being close, we decided to go by and we really enjoyed it. Here’s a couple little shops and a post office. We were there on a weekday afternoon so there was really no one there. The dancehall was empty, there was a performer singing outside which was nice. It’s worth a stop if you are in the area.

    Worth a Visit
We stopped by on a rainy afternoon and checked out the venue and shops and of course the bar for a Lone Star. Friendly people and there was a buss load of Willie fans. There were some guys pickin and it looked like it would be a great place for live music on a summer evening.

    Old town feel
Our group tour stopped off here for an hour or so. Time to look around and shop. Only a couple of places since no music going on at the time. Nice stuff at the shop: seemed really high quality. I wouldn't say that the people who work here were the friendliest that I encountered in Texas.

With Willie, Waylon and The Boys
LOVE, love, LOVE Luckenbach. Let's go! You won't be disappointed going here if you like to listen to music in a relaxing environment. Don't go here thinking that it will be a vibrant energetic place. There is a vibe here that is chill and causes you to want to sit at a picnic table to enjoy a slower pace while sipping on a longneck and listening to some really good music.

We stopped for maybe 30 minutes, just to have a look around. Parking is free. There are a few bars or walk up windows where you can buy beverages, a gift shop, public restrooms, and the post office building (great photo op). There was a band playing while we were there (no cover charge).

    Underwhelming during the day.
I guess when you are driving to Fredericksburg you must stop at Luckenbach. It has a few stages that most likely are hopping a certain times of the day or on weekend nights. There are a few places to buy some souvenirs. Picnic tables for eating and most likely drinking. I can see it being a lot of fun when the bands are playing. During the day it is rather underwhelming. Cool history though. Don't go out of your way though.

We planned our road trip between Dallas and San Antonio to pass by Luckenbach. It seemed like a fun place, typical Texas and for the region.
To put it short, yes we enjoyed it as a nice lunch stop. But don't expect much more.
The live music at our visit was soft and very quiet. We sat in the back and could not hear a thing, the room was half empty. (The show took place in the large dining area closest to the burger kiosk.) There are however other stages and I hope the music experience is better there, considering how the market the live music.

Besides this there isn't really much more. A gift shop, some old buildings and some games.

The burgers were nice though, just like when you fix them in your backyard. :-)

So. Much. Fun. There was a live band on Friday night with several people out on the dance floor. We visited the gift shop and t-shirt shop. Both had very cool selections of merchandise. The bar served some tasty, ice cold root beer, too.

Lots of photo ops! Don’t miss this place if you are in the area. Only 11 miles from Fredericksburg, Texas.

Luckenbach is a state of mind. Monday nights are hosted by different musicians and everyone is invited to play and or sing along. They even have a bar guitar if you don't bring your own. Guitars, fiddles, harmonicas, you never know who's going to show up with their instruments. Check out their website to see what band is playing or function going on.

We went on a Monday afternoon in mid-July. To our surprise they had live-music! It was just a single person singing and playing the guitar, but considering it was a Monday afternoon we were surpised. The store and bar were open, but unfortunately there was no food available. We were hungry, so we just had a quick drink and listened to the music for a while before leaving. Everyone was super-nice.

We stopped here just to say we did! We had a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and homemade chips that was very good. Music was being played the whole time we were there! You could get a cowboy hat or visit the store for a baseball hat or T-shirt. The weather was nice to sit outside! We had a great time!

Have to check it out if you like live music. Free artists most afternoons and evenings - check the "calendar" under "events" on their web site for who is playing when. Plenty of parking and picnic tables to sit at. Might want to bring a folding chair just in case the tables are taken.

Having heard the song named after this location a thousand times we just couldn’t drive by without stopping to check it out. So glad we didn’t bypass it! We got there just in time to hear the band play the song by Willie – they did a great job. Loved the little gift shop/bar area. Would really enjoy to come back for a concert or when we had more time to sit and enjoy. An excellent, relaxing atmosphere.

Quite a surprise when we arrived not at all what I thought but the story behind it and the song is quite entertaining. There were local performers who were pretty good to sit and listen to. Very laid back and I'm sure it's los of fun when there is a concert.

Love this place. We went for a short visit on a Sunday afternoon and it was so interesting watching the people. They were setting up for music that night. We loved the post office and bought several nice souvenirs and a cowboy hat at an outside stand. Loved the dance hall. Very historic
