We stumbled upon this memorial early in the morning, and it was unexpectedly beautiful and moving. It appeared to be well maintained, although it also appeared that several of the people occupying the benches had possibly been there all night? Not sure. Otherwise it was...More

We decided to bike around Dallas and see the city. Freedman's Memorial was top on our list. This is a very small memorial, how it is pretty. I enjoyed the statues and the history about African Americans.

This is definitely a must see site in Dallas. The sculptures evoke so much emotions and walking on the grounds and reading the quotes will put you in a trance. A powerful and sad site.

I so enjoy these types of memorials. I find most people will not find the best and most thoughtful places. I search for the meaningful!

Stunning artwork and a moving tribute to a period in Dallas' that was almost lost to memory. It's also within walking distance to three other historic cemeteries in the shadows of downtown Dallas: Greenwood, Emanuel Hebrew, and Calvary. Note: Emanuel is closed from sundown Friday...More

This is an almost unknown public memorial that I found to be much more than first appearance. I wandered in, while walking near a friends condo. And made note to return. It is a memorial of inspiration and peace, but I found much more significance...More
