Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was the second stop of our wine venture. They had some pretty good wind, but not over the top. I will suggest the pecan wine that they serve. It quite different. Unfortunately, none of the wines won me over to buy a bottle.

Went for the Lavender and Wine Festival. My daughter and I had a fun time picking grapes and doing the grape stomp. Really loved our overpriced T-shirts and putting our foot prints on them from grape stomp. They didn't tell us not to wash the shirts, as all the purple color comes out and then it just looks like a dirty t-shirt. I agree with the others on the wines... Worse than a cheap wine and sells for $25 to $35 a bottle.
The location is small and did not accommodate the large crowd.

Spent Saturday going to the Lavender and Wine festival. The lavender farm was very enjoyable and this winery was cute, had great music, and a well-run event, but the wines were below average to terrible. Several had an unfinished taste to them. I applaud their effort and enjoyed the place, but the wines need work.

This is a small winery right outside of Brenham. As we had been to others in the area, we decided to stop by. It’s is a family business with a small tasting room and indoor / outdoor areas. The manager was friendly and helped us with a tasting, which you can do as quickly or slowly as you like. While the place was relaxing, their wine was not very good and we wouldn’t recommend it to others. However, if you visit - I would recommend sticking to their sweet wines.

Found this winery a couple of years ago while out looking at wild flowers in spring and saw a sign for this place and thought why not. It was a great decision so much so that we became members. We go several times a year and do our quarterly pick up and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. My husband and I lead such busy lives that this is a beautiful oasis to just sit and enjoy the view and good wine. The owners are so sweet and welcoming. Definitely would recommend this place

I brought a Groupon for a tour and cheese plate. We enjoyed the tour and the wines. We also did a separate tasting. This is a very small winery, but the property has a nice view. There is live music under the covered patio. I would return.

Six of us were in Brenham for the weekend, & we decided to stop by Windy Wineries for an impromptu visit.

Three of us chose to do the wine tasting while two purchased glasses of wine. We initially had a wonderful wine steward who talked us through our choices & gave us interesting information on each wine.

Midway through our tasting, the owner told us we had to move over into an impossible space for three people. I backed away from the bar, making room within the space he insisted that we occupy.

He ignored the three of us for a bit. Finally, he asked our next tasting, asking one of us to repeat "sangria" several times. Once he "understood," he picked up some random dirty glasses & took them to the back to wash them--BEFORE coming back to wait on us. Once back, he asked again which wine we wanted. When another employee tried to help (because by this time we had said it several times), he pushed her arm out of the way, telling her, "I don't need your help!"

He finally poured our sangria, barely getting any into the glasses
.

I clarified whether he was the owner, retracted my request for two bottles of wine, tipped our original steward, & told her there was no reason to be treated in that manner.

If he is present, I would not recommend stopping...he really spoiled what was an enjoyable experience.

Went on Saturday afternoon, cashier is very friendly. Others were short and not informative about winery. I really like to hear about the winery but didn’t get the chance at this one. Wine tour came in and got too busy to care about customers.

Well worth the trip if in the Brenham area. While we were not particularly fond of the wines, they were OK, just not the styles we enjoy most. The pours are extremely generous. The winery, however, is wonderful and relaxing, and the staff is delightful and extremely helpful and friendly. August and Linda Meitzen are the proud owners of this lovely winery and there is plenty of room to sit and relax either inside or outside. Set in the country the venue is a lovely place to spent part of a nice afternoon. Thanks to Katherine Jenkins for the excellent presentation on the wine making process and for sharing other interesting tid-bits about the area. Looking forward to trying her Roux Street suggestion in Brenham for some crawfish and other Cajun delights. Will go there again.
