About
The Baytown Umbrella Alley is occupied with colorful umbrellas that swing back and forth in a whimsical limbo, casting dancing shadows along the alley walls and ground. The Lee College Art Department is working on the mural that wraps around the walls that focus on the ecology of Baytown. Come take a selfie and share with #iHeartBaytown!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Umbrella Alley is located in downtown Baytown. It's actually a fairly nice area.
I knew about the Umbrella Alley, but I didn't know of all the cool Texas artwork drawn by the students of Lee College.
The pictures of Texas, Alligators and Raccoons are neat.
I highly recommend this free attraction.

Fun! What a cute and colorful spot. It’s great for pictures or just a burst of joy if you’re traveling has not gone the way you expected. It’s in the arts district so there’s the town square and cute little shops all around

The Better Block, located at 124 W. Texas, is part of a larger public art program launched by the Baytown Tourism Division in partnership with the city, the Art League of Baytown, Lee College Art Department and Sterling Municipal Library.

We were walking the Avenue and found this by accident. Lovely area with umbrellas for shade. The art is colorful and worth taking pictures of.

The Umbrellas have been removed. There is nothing to see here. There is nothing to see in the surrounding neighborhood either.

Not much more than an open air space between old town buildings with the benefit of fantastic wall art and the beautiful umbrellas as a back drop!

A nice and interesting way to make an area where an old building no longer exists. I think this was a great idea and made an area that could have been an eye sore into an area that tourist would like to see. It looks like the mural is a work in progress and the umbrellas had happiness to the project. Nice job Baytown. A great example for other cities to follow.
