Plenty of clean yellow sand and blue water. Good place for boarding and rock pools for the littlies. Short walk to London Bridge (giant rock formation) with its window to the sea makes for great photos. Clean toilet and shower facilities available.

This is the reach beach at Portsea and has a shielded beach area. Was quite crowded over the Christmas holidays but we climbed up to the observation point which gave a good view of both sides of the peninsula.

I would suggest anyone going to Melbourne, to please visit Mornington Peninsula. The drive in itself is really beautiful and peaceful. Portsea was the first place we stopped for while going through the peninsula. Chilly wind owing to the month of June and the bright...More

Easy access to the beach, good carpark and a cafeteria near the car park. Lots of rock pools and beautiful coastline. Would have to agree with other posts, the surf is strong but this part of the country is known for this. Just bear it...More

There's some good areas near rockpools sheltered by outcrops and cliffs to enjoy. Best time for rockpools is low tide, with plenty of starfish and small sea life for kids to investigate. Our party of eight had great fun exploring (beach shoes or sandals for...More

Visited the back beach through the week and had it all to ourselves. Great place to photograph the rugged coastal cliffs.

Swimming at Portsea Beach is not for the feint-hearted nor weak swimmers. The surf conditions are often rough and treacherous. The beach sand is pristine and a good place to relax. It is within a short walk of the car park. Thanks for your vote...More
