Happened to pass through here just before sunset. Popped in and had half the rock to ourselves and enjoyed the sun set over the Little Desert. Great little secret spot in the Wimmera. It is also a popular rock climbing site.

This location, on the Natimuk-Frances Rd, was a surprise. Not only did we watch adventurous rock-climbers, but we spotted White Browed Babbler families, brown tree creepers on the road, honeyeaters and grey shrike thrush. No facilities but worth a stop.

We didn't luck out with the weather and had to abseil off the Bishop route before it got too wet, but this is a fun little spot off Arapiles. Lots of options.

Mitre Rock is the smaller sister/cousin to Mt Arapiles on the other side of the road. Mitre Rock in itself is worth a look and provided rock climbers with some good climbing - but again pales in comparison to its bigger sister. Mitre is easier...More
