Whilst I'm not Scottish, I do live in Scotland. When out on a casual drive we stopped in Camberdown to get some lunch. Completely by chance we came across this small village, and even more so that we can across a statue of Robert Burns....More

We went looking for the Statue in the Botanic Gardens and were redirected to the Shire Office. We totally understand why it's there but it's out of place, hidden in a corner and a bit hard to find. What a shame the Office had to...More

The Robert Burns Statue is located in the Corangamite Shire office and has had restoration work done after some past vandalism attempts. Has a story to go with the statue and is worth a photo if you're in the area.

An interesting statue that is worth a look of stopping in town. It's not often you see something like this in a council office

You'll find Robbie Burns sitting in the foyer of the Camperdown Shire offices. A fantastic bit of restoration undertaken after The Baird was damaged by vandals, he now sits in the window quietly contemplating life!

As a Scot I was thrilled by the care that has been taken over preserving this early statue. It is now protected, but also has a fine push button info board. A little image of the statue needs to be placed on the original plinth...More

This is claimed to be the earliest statue anywhere of Robert Burns. It shows the poet sitting with his dog, Luath, and is based on an early painting of the Burns by his friend, Peter Taylor, in Edinburgh 1786. It was sculpted by John Greenshields...More
