There was a lot of construction happening hopefully updating and upgrading the zoo. Is good for families with kids. Could be more information on the animals and an audio tour would improve on the zoo experience
Just a short boat trip from Darling harbour or Central Quay takes you over to Taronga Zoo. Worth a day trip especially if you have younger family. Lots to see and do and the zoo itself takes a good few hours to walk round. If...More

The zoo is so disappointing, the animals really are few and far between. The viewing areas for the enclosures really aren’t big either for anyone to get a good view and unfortunately they have put all the lions/tigers/ etc in a seperate tiger trek area...More
How could Taronga zoo not get 5 stars. The layout and views are spectacular. The bird and seal shows are great entertainment and good for the kids to learn about the animals. The new tiger enclosure is fantastic. It’s always well staffed with friendly faces...More

This was our second visit in a week.
On Monday we enjoyed a leisurely day starting from the lower entrance and returned on Friday to a very different experience.
The lower entrance only opens after 11am, so we started at the Main (top) entrance.
With a variety of outdoor attractions, the sophisticated harbour suburb of Mosman has something for everyone. Shoppers can stroll Military Road for its unique offering of antiques, designer labels, and hip restaurants and cafes. Nature lovers can take in spectacular bushwalks like the Taronga to Balmoral walk, while families can enjoy snorkeling in the sheltered beaches of Balmoral Beach or scuba diving at
Chowder Bay. History lovers enjoy exploring the fortifications at the end of Old Fort Road in Middle Head, which date back to the 1800s. Even the exhibitionist set can find entertainment in Mosman, with several nude beaches located in the area.
