Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

Visited Taronga on a Roar & Snore visit. Overall experience was very good, accommodation was comfortable, with a morning wake up view across the harbour & great hospitality from the passionate staff. Some of the night activity was below par but a behind the scenes...More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Taronga Zoo. We arrived about 1pm and were there for about 3.5 hours. We felt this was the perfect amount of time to see the majority of the zoo as there were a few exhibits that didn’t interest us...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the zoo. The walk is all downhill to visit the enclosures and the Aussie wildlife area was a highlight for us—being able to walk among kangaroos, emus, and wallabys. Catch a ferry from Circular Quay and enjoy the views...More

Whilst the zoo setting is absolutely stunning, the number of enclosures where we couldn’t see any animals was high. We were also really looking forward to the tiger trek but after a 20 minute wait all we saw were 2 sleeping tigers! The real highlight...More

We recently visited the zoo and had such a great day. We arrived early as it was school holidays and a weekend so we expected utter kaos. Surprisingly, it was much less busy than our previous visit and our kids had a fantastic time exploring...More

A great way to spend a day with young kids. Good exercise going up and down the hills. Just make sure you take a packed lunch because the food for sale there is expensive and not very nice.

I only went to the Roar n Snore event - which is catered for and therefore no food is required. If you intend to bring your own for dietary requirements I suggest calling them directly to check.
