Went with 2 adults, 3 children which was £27.50. Enjoyed the caverns and found the self guide experience relaxed. Staff were also very friendly, including at the nearby café with their lovely milkshakes. This is an hour and a half max so you may think...More

Picked up a leaflet, drove an hour up the coast, and what a great place to spend an hour. Its light and airy on the first level, and then dark and atmospheric lower down. Me and the kids really liked it, and wearing the hard...More

Really enjoyed this do it yourself visit. They give you a hard hat and torch and you just get on with it. Lots of information cards around and gives you a good idea of the working conditions, dangerous, damp and cramped. Don't think they would pass...More

You self tour with a hard hat and a torch. They happy to let dogs in. It’s a little light in there and quite cavernous we didn’t find it claustrophobic. The information boards were clear and imparted good clear information. It’s not a long trip,...More

We enjoyed this as a family for the first time after visiting a lot of tourist mines which have proper guided tours - this was very refreshing doing the tour at your own pace and the children enjoyed having their own torches exploring! Gave a...More

Called in on the spur of the moment while passing by and pleasantly surprised. The shop at the entrance has nice gifts, a friendly lady issuing tickets, hard hats and torches. The caverns themselves are well presented, cover a large area and are reasonably easy...More

A really interesting set of mines. Fantastic price and the fact it's a self-tour means you can explore the mines at your own leisure. Good gift shop with knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions. The view from the carpark is incredible too.

The caverns are very large so no matter how tall you can stand up. The passageways between caverns are considerably smaller but short in length so you don't have to crouch for very long.
