This is a self tour attraction and appears to be well priced for what it is. We were given a Hard Hat & Torch before entry. Each area within the mine has an information board. I would suggest that an audio presentation like at other...More

Self guided walking tour round old slate mines, you don’t learn as much as you would with a tour guide but the experience of grabbing a torch and some hard hats and making your own way round is great fun. Super cafe next door too.

We visited here with our 3 children aged 8 and 6. Not a bad price for entrance and they provide you with hard hats and a torch. It is a self guided tour with information and direction on which way to walk around. The kids...More

An interesting exploration of a couple of levels of old slate mines. Some dark tunnels only lit by the torches you are given along with the hard hats. Some areas show what the working conditions were like for the miners. A Sean Connery film was...More

Really good place for kids to learn about the past, allow half an hour to get round the caverns and read everything that happened down the mine. Switch the lights off and see how dark it gets! Dogs can go too 🐶👍

Went with 2 adults, 3 children which was £27.50. Enjoyed the caverns and found the self guide experience relaxed. Staff were also very friendly, including at the nearby café with their lovely milkshakes. This is an hour and a half max so you may think...More

Picked up a leaflet, drove an hour up the coast, and what a great place to spend an hour. Its light and airy on the first level, and then dark and atmospheric lower down. Me and the kids really liked it, and wearing the hard...More

The caverns are very large so no matter how tall you can stand up. The passageways between caverns are considerably smaller but short in length so you don't have to crouch for very long.
