This was in excellent condition for an old castle. Loads of castle still left to explore, with boards to help the imagination with what life was like here. Superb views Information centre and toilets available before you cross the bridge into the castle

Extremely well preserved giving a really good understanding of classic castle design. Easy to get around on the ground level although getting up to the ramparts is more strenuous. The ramparts afford some stunning views and are not messed up by ridiculous safety fencing so...More

This is an interesting Castle. Lots of History. It is however entrance is a bit pricey as is the Guide book. It was an interesting visit with some spectacular views from the highest points.

Not much of the castle left, you are able to walk around most of it, and up some steps and around the top, worth a visit

Such an interesting story is attached to this castle as it has seen more actual action than many castles that were often status symbols. Well worth a visit and the cafe has an amazing view,

I think about £6/adult £20/family and free for disabled people and their carers. not sure about children and oaps, although I'm sure Google could tell you.

While officially dogs are welcome, my recollection is that this doesn't apply to all parts (for safety reasons). Your dog needs to be kept on a leash at all times.
