Fantastic circular walk that takes you along the cliffs of this stunning nature reserve. Birds galore! Spectacular views from the top of the cliffs. Some of the route has wooden pathways but the circular route itself can take you up and down some fairly steep...More

It's quite a trip from Mainland to Hermaness but well worth it. The walk is straightforward but in no way prepares you for the amazing sites (and smells) that greet you when you reach the cliffs. Dramatic doesn't do it justice! Combined with the knowledge...More

The route to the spectacular and quite scary cliffs is now a wooden pavement so you don't have to walk through the bog. An hour or so to walk to the Western edge. Great for bird watching. Don't go on a windy day!

There's a moderate to easy 1 - 2 mile work from the car park to the island's edge, going up hill. Fortunately the board walk over the boggy land makes it suitable for almost all. The views are simply stunning. Lots of puffins to be...More

Enjoyed a long walk in bracing wind - worth it to reach the cliffs where we saw - and smelt - the thousands of birds.

Well worth the effort to get to the northern bit of Unst and taking several hours over the walk. We saw thousands of fulmars, gannets and puffins.
