Over three floors, the converted mill houses the bookshop, contemporary art gallery and cafe in a unique environment, complete with comfy chairs - a browser's paradise. Next door is our homes and gardens shop, Homer. We are open seven days a week, 10am - 5pm (11am on Sunday).

We sat outside in the sun and had cold drinks at this cafe. It was very busy and the food going past to other tables looked delicious. Then we spent some time looking round the bookshop which had all sorts of different genres of books,...More

Disappointed not being able to visit. It was a rainy morning and we have two very well behaved dogs. Not the weather for sitting outside. This restaurant is dog friendly in the garden area only.

We loved the quirky mill and how all the space has been used so well. The book shop was great as was the cafe where we had a great lunch sitting outside in the sun. Right in centre of this charming town.

This is a little gem of a place. The selection of books is great. The coffeshop serves a great selection of food and cakes. The coffee was very tasty indeed.

Lovely coffee and cakes, proper tea and table service from friendly and efficient local staff. You can sit outside or inside, comfy sofas and plenty of space to browse the books and the artefacts on display. A real gem.

Wandered in for a bookmark for my daughter and stayed for a couple of hours! There is old machinery throughout the shop. Ended up buying a few books which added weight to my already heavy backpack!

It has been a long time since I stepped into a bookshop with such a huge selection available. A lovely time spent browsing through titles new and old and the best bit was no one asking every two minutes if they can help. I had...More

We Stopped by for a mid afternoon chicken in a rustic seeded roll. Lovely wee spot and we were very lucky with the weather; a scorchio 24. Service was delightful and very friendly. Defo recommended!

We visited the bookshop twice during our recent visit to the area, the range of books is extensive - we could have spent a fortune! We went to the cafe on both occasions, the service was very good and the range of teas, sandwiches and...More

Lovely bookshop and my wife wished she could have stayed there all day! They had two books by my favourite author, Martin Walker, hard to find any in most bookshops

Hi Graham Thanks for flagging this up (it is something that annoys me too) - I will bring it to the attention of the cafe team. Regards Kevin

The Watermill is in a 200 year-old A-listed building and it wasn't possible to install a lift to the top floor art gallery, although we do have level access to the bookshop and cafe (on separate floors). I will change our... More
