Interesting site and worth a visit. My young nephew loved it as did some other youngsters visiting, he loved exploring the German trenches and other German fortifications. A reminder of the German occupation of the island.

A place we always visit, even when not open. Pity the undergrowth has been allowed to grow around it so much now used to be able to get right up to the front.

Driving around the island, you come upon this remaining German fortification and you have a sense of the history of the island. The German occupation left many remnants of a war gone by.

Great to see the men working hard making the gun look like new. Well worth looking this area up whilst you're on the island. You can see all the German dug outs and also a short walk to one of the observation towers.

Many of the trenches to access the replacements are in place. Kids with love the drama and adults will no doubt contemplate the other aspects generated by visiting.

Really interesting and darn impressive that they don't charge any entry fee. Doesn't take long to get around so maybe combine it with a walk along the cliffs - if you're going specifically to look around then you may not be there very long so...More

This tower shows the incredible effort that the Germans went into to fortify the islands and use them as part of the Atlantic Wall. You can explore the tower itself and see displays and information about how it worked. You also get incredible views of...More

Not a lot of people know about Hitler's Atlantic Wall it runs along the coast of Europe for 800 miles. A lot of it in many places has eroded and been washed into the sea, a lot of defences in the Channel Islands particularly in...More
