On a stormy day, when we had already been drowned, we took the 20 minute drive from Grand Rocques along some narrow roads to the observation tower. Charge for 1 adult and 3 children £12, which I felt was a bit steep. I had visited...More

This time it was open, if you do not have a car its a long walk from the Bus Stop but well worth it. Ask the Bus Driver to tell you when you get to the stop and then the hike begins, its a bit...More

Start from Rocquaine beach and walk up to the headland; you will find not only the Pleinmont Observation Tower but other areas of historical interest, with good information panels and kept well by the Guernsey tourist group. The walk is stunning, not too difficult although...More

Of the numerous remnants of the German occupation of Guernsey, Pleinmont Observation Tower seems to be the most rewarding to visit. I found it to be well restored, interpreted and accessible, with around 5 floors and the open roof to visit. A leaflet explained both...More

Interesting site and worth a visit. My young nephew loved it as did some other youngsters visiting, he loved exploring the German trenches and other German fortifications. A reminder of the German occupation of the island.

A place we always visit, even when not open. Pity the undergrowth has been allowed to grow around it so much now used to be able to get right up to the front.

Driving around the island, you come upon this remaining German fortification and you have a sense of the history of the island. The German occupation left many remnants of a war gone by.

Great to see the men working hard making the gun look like new. Well worth looking this area up whilst you're on the island. You can see all the German dug outs and also a short walk to one of the observation towers.
