This is closed for renovation by the City of Paris and the building is clad in scaffolding and plastic. Unfortunately this fact is not widely publicised (or if it is then tourist boards have tended to ignore it) and the cruise lines seemed to have...More

Having trudged up the hill from St Peterport, we were very disappointed to find that Victor Hugo’s house is closed long term for renovations. We did not find notice of this closure either at the tourist information office nor on the visitguernsey website.

Now closed for renovation. A look back in time, how Victor Hugo lived. Was he ecentric? At the top of the House is his Studio. The table was laid for one extra person, the Ghost!!

The garden is accessible and very pleasant. The house has rather rickety old stairs. They may let yo look in the dining room on the ground floor.
