The rain meant the beaches were closed and walking in the local towns wasn't really an option so went for a stroll here. It's a nice walk, but I'd recommend the right footwear if going for a walk in the rain as some parts of the path were impassable. Overall a nice experience though.

Recently, Joe, Sammy and I went for a pleasant walk in Courtown Woods. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. There were a few people about and we acknowledged them on our walk. We find it very relaxing and peaceful. The trees are lovely. I would recommend this place for all that visit as there’s a lot to see as there’s a hotel, a shop and the seafront nearby. There’s even crazy golf and a golf course nearby as well.

variety of trees. nice walk - not very long. Lot of different trees brouhgt in hundred years ago from mainly North America. They have turned this land into a mature forrest. although the footpaths are very well kept you cant walk for hours. not very hilly part from one decent coming from the main courtown road. Dogs are allowed when on a leash.

Great place for a walk on a decent day. The woods skirt the shore for a few km and you can hop onto the beach for a bit and then back into the woods. Best take the car all the way along the road until the car park at the end near courtown beach. Alternatively there is the big car park and the playground beside the swimming pool and you can access the woods there as well. Loads of dogs about and people are nice and friendly.
